en To that point, the team's mood was a lot like the weather--kind of gray. But then Justin comes out in one of our first races of the day and blows the field away. en They had to work really hard on offense to get open looks. We did a great job on Justin Gray, to the point where their coach had to make an adjustment because he was not touching the ball.

en The owner (Paul Allen) bought us an airplane, which was nice, and he has all these electronic gadgets on it, so you can get live TV, movies or whatever you want. Every seat is a first-class seat . . . but the mood was kind of like the mood of this team all year. I make it a point to go down the aisle once or twice during every flight, as do the other coaches. The guys are watching TV or they are sleeping. Our season is not over yet, and that is how they have approached it.

en We felt with Chris and Justin (Gray) we would be OK at that position. We were involved with several other point guards in the junior class. We knew he was a very good player, and obviously he showed that to us again.

en There was no enthusiasm ... We just seemed like a bunch of guys like a deer in the headlights, a lot of guys just wondering who is going to make the plays instead of going out and making the play. That's how it was to me. Whoever is on the field first is going to set the tone, and we can't let the other team go down the field and get a long run and set the tone early in the game.

en I think it was a goal of mine and a goal of the team's to really come out hard, especially after a tough loss on Wednesday, and to just set the tone for today on our home field and for the rest of the year.

en Justin Gray is just a phenomenal player. We've watched so much film on him, but it's nothing like watching him in person. He hits unbelievable shots. He wouldn't go away tonight, and kept his team in it until the end.

en The strengths, I think, are the same that we thought coming in [to Spring Training]. You look at the team on the field, it's a pretty good team on the field. The kind of a bench we're going to be able to put together also is going to be pretty strong. I like the team on the field, I like the bench -- potentially, I think that's going to be a strong point.

en We thought we got our defense under us in the first half and kind of set the tone for the rest of the game. We had a little lull defensively in the third quarter, but they're a very good offensive basketball team and they weren't going to come out of the locker room lying down.

en The market kind of drives it. Then when one guy gets it, it kind of sets the tone for the rest.

en We're seeing the reality of a market that does not have any great conviction. Anyone who expected a linear, 'We're off to the races' kind of tone after last week was mistaken.

en It's kind of surprising to some people we are in this position, but these kids have continued to grow. We definitely have improved throughout the season. Justin is a guard in a post player's body. We've had kids step up for us. Even though he is scoring a lot for us, Justin is very much a team player.

en I was a little disappointed the way we finished in the field events, but we probably ran as good as we could. Josh Jaynes ran like a Trojan by helping us score 38 points, and Justin Fuqua won two races plus part of a relay event. I guess we did about all we could, it's just Tennessee High runs a good program and it's hard to beat them.

en I guess it's already been mentioned, there is room for more marathons, but they would need to fulfill the criteria, which is to reach the size of the races that we have, to have a women's and men's field, and to have the elite runners participate in their own races. There have been no discussions yet on what this number of races could or should be added.
