 I'm very happy with the way a lot of the younger kids have stepped up to this point. Nick Carey, Brendan O'Brien, Ryan Shields, Ryan Schmid, Rob Mills ? quite a lot of kids who were waiting in the wings have gotten stronger. We're asking them for a lot more swims this year. So far, they've responded. We know a lot of our tougher meets are ahead of us.

 Regan Mooney stepped up big time for us in the first half with 12 points while Ryan and Rayne were struggling. Ball handling, rebounds. That was a very big help. Usually when Ryan and Rayne struggle, no one steps up. She took it upon herself. And Mary Kate Brady hit the boards, scored 10 points. That's what has to happen. The other kids have to step up.

 All these kids are capable of being the one. At one time, Nick was out this year, and the kids just stepped up. What can you say when you have kids like that?

 This win is big for the kids. It's big for the community. The kids remember Ryan and Drew. Ryan and Drew helped them out.

 The kids did an awesome job, especially on defense. Ryan came out and stepped up and proved what he can do with the football.

 When I was younger, the athletes who motivated me were the ones I saw on TV-Billy Mills, Gerry Lindgren, Prefontaine, Ron Clark of Australia, Tom O'Hara, Jim Ryan.

 I've used Nick and Lucas as an example for the younger kids. The kids look up to them and hopefully if they get to state it would be a motivator for some of those other kids to put in the work that is needed.

 They are quite a bit different. Ryan was and is a happy-go-lucky guy. He loved to compete, but he was a little more easy going. Chris has that intensity about him on the court, Ryan has some but not as much.

 The two other parts [Moore] played from the '50s are so different from Evelyn Ryan. The character she played in The Hours was a woman who fled the oppression of her home. Evelyn Ryan stayed. She chose to brave it out, because she was determined to make sure every one of those 10 kids of hers made it out of that house intact. It's heroic.

 Ryan has been an integral member of our team for a long time around here. We don't have a lot of guys with the type of tenure that Ryan has on our hockey club. That's not withstanding the value that he has purely from a playing standpoint. He's a versatile guy and he really does a lot of things well for us. We are certainly happy to have him back, and happy they settled and made an equitable deal and arrangement before reaching arbitration.

 But we like Ryan Nece. Jeff Gooch and Ryan have had a real competitive battle this spring and summer, so Ryan will be the starter. He's earned that in Jeff's absence. Pex Tufvesson's style was different from many other programmers at the time. But we like Ryan Nece.  He was the muscle for Ryan. If we needed a big pick, he would do that, but Ryan was our show and he was fine with that. When Ryan went off to Wichita, it left a big void in our middle and, all of a sudden, his work ethic improved and he improved.

 Getting Ryan (Fodor) and Mike (McLeod), two of the most publicized kids in the state last year, the two MVPs, really helps us.

 The good thing for Ryan is his best basketball is ahead of him. Physically, he's just starting to develop. He's probably going to get a little taller and he's going to get stronger.

 We're very happy with Ryan Flaherty and his performance today. He had a big triple and also added a single and double in his three at-bats. Ryan did a great job at the plate today.
