You can't depend on gezegde

 You can't depend on the crowd. You have to go out and play. Coach told us they would make everyone leave, and we knew once it started it was going to pack up.

 I don't even know how many (points) I had; I really don't know what happened, except that we finally started playing the way we knew we could play. In the first half, we just didn't play any defense at all. And Coach told us about it at halftime. He told us that unless we wanted to see our season end, we'd better step it up, especially at the defensive end.

 We knew we were going to get their best game and they were going to be hyped up. Coach told us we had to have a lot of intensity. Being in their gym we knew they were going to get a huge crowd and we knew it was going to be loud.

 Once I got there and started skating every day, I knew I had to make a full commitment. Somebody told me, a coach a long time ago, that if you want to make the Olympic team, you have to dedicate your entire life, sacrifice everything. I wasn't ready to do that before.

 Trying to coach a style that somebody else is putting in front of you, ... well, as a young coach, I thought I could do it. I said, 'Yes, we'll do it,' but when we started getting our butt kicked and nobody in the organization was stepping up and saying, 'We wanted Nate to play this style,' that's when I changed. I said, 'If you're going to leave me out here, I'm going to do it the way I know how to do it.'

 Not really, for two reasons. Number one, we looked at him and knew he was a very talented guy. We knew he could throw well and was very intelligent. And number two, when you're working with a coach who can make you understand the game and what it is you're trying to accomplish like Coach Spurrier can, you expect the quarterbacks to play well.

 It was frustrating. Coach told me though that we were going to wing it. Coach called option one time and I called timeout because I knew I could not run the play.  I knew one of his assistants had left to go to Penn State Beaver and I thought he might need some help. I probably would have ended up as a volunteer coach some place, but Scott told me to come over and that's how it started.

 Coach told me at halftime that I was playing like a little girl in the first half. So I knew I had to come out and play harder in the second half. I knew that I had to step up my game.

 I told him I wanted him to listen. I told him I appreciated the way he cheered for his teammates at the end of (Wednesday's) game. It meant a lot. I was sorry that the crowd, some of the people booed him. And I told him I just wanted him to let us coach him the rest of the year. He's not going anywhere, and let's move on.

 I didn't underestimate them. I don't know about the team. I knew they could play. I saw it on tape. Coach told us.

 I was just trying to make a play for my team. The last thing Randy (Magic assistant coach Randy Ayers) told me was to make a play. I just wanted to get down and play good defense.

 The thing I told Rod is that I would have hated to have to try and coach him. He just didn't listen, but that's how talented he was. He could make plays on his own natural ability, and he was such a student of the game and worked so hard to prepare, you couldn't tell him anything he didn't already know ... or think he knew. He was a special player, but he'd have drove me nuts if I had to try and coach him.

 Coach Joyce started to run practices and he knew what he was doing. He got us to be real intense. I think we still have to peak and I think we can make a big run in the playoffs. We are on the brink of doing that.

 I told him when he missed the free throws that if he didn't play that way in overtime we wouldn't be here right now. I told him he had to focus on the next four minutes and we would depend on him to come through.
