The thing I'm happiest gezegde

 The thing I'm happiest about tonight is that we've got to learn that it's not always going to be a pretty game. Sometimes we're going to have to gut it out, play scrappy and get the bounce in front of the goal. And we did that tonight.

 We managed to pass it around pretty well tonight and I was happy with the way things were going, and I think that play was a microcosm of how the ball was moving tonight. Unfortunately, that was the only play that led to a goal for us.

 I think we say tonight how important it is to play your first game of the season in front of your home fans. The guys who had the chances finished well tonight and we got timely goaltending when we needed it the most.

 We just have to find a way to win, that's the only thing that's been missing. We've played a number of games like tonight but we haven't had any breaks. Tonight, if we get a bounce, it's 2-0.

 It was a tough game. Dayton comes to play. They always play good basketball against us and tonight was no exception. They're scrappy and we knew they'd come to play hard and they did. They played very well. They did a great job. Hats off to them. We're just happy to have a win.

 Tonight we were a bit more simple (in our play) and it showed in the score. The scoring came back around tonight. We had lots of chances. Maybe we could have had more than five (goals). But we did play strong tonight. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing. It was an exciting game and we got two points.

 When we were down 2-0 tonight, we were playing pretty well. The third goal was not very well played by us. The kid was out front all by himself. We dug ourselves a hole, that?s the disappointing part.

 I thought we played a heck of a game up front and we talked about that. Some of these guys went to the freshman game. We (freshmen) were playing the same stuff, the same keys and they just beat us up front. We told the guys before the game that we have to do that to them tonight, win the battle up front, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that.

 Our running backs were a pleasant surprise tonight. We like to get behind our big ol' boys up front, and they blocked pretty good tonight.

 I'm asking them to be older than their years. But they were also baptized by fire. We took a pretty good caning early on, and hopefully you learn from that. Every game we'll play the rest of the league schedule will be like tonight.

 Our goal tonight was to get on them fast and make them play from behind. We knew they were capable of controlling the clock on us. That quick score early was big. Our offense kind of sputtered, but we had a couple of big plays. I was encouraged by our passing game tonight. We know we have a playmaker in Tate.

 We have to try and learn something from every night. We have to do a better job of staying out of the penalty box, because we can't let that become the focus of our game. If we are going to have a lot of penalties, we have to be better on the power play. We let our team down tonight. We had numerous opportunities to get back into this thing when it was 1-0.

 The Bobby Holik goal was the turnaround tonight. This game feels good, but at the same time that was not our best game and we know it. So hopefully we will learn from this game and get better.

 It was a gutsy win for us tonight. That's a scrappy team over there. They've been playing some very good basketball and we don't take anything for granted. (Stackhouse) stepped up tonight and I thought Devin really came on and gave us a big lift in overtime.

 I had a bunch of tired girls tonight, and I challenged them in the locker room to step up, play through this and play tired. Our goal was to be 5-0 at this point, and they could have gone out there tonight and been 5-0 or been 4-1. If they wanted to come out and play lazy and slow and not want to be there then that is what they were going to get.
