It's pretty wide and very smooth, and there are lots of places to pass. There are probably 10 good passing spots on this track. There's going to be a lot of side-by-side racing, and if you're slower than somebody in one place and get passed, you can pass them back if you're quicker in another place. You can get lost here more than at other tracks. It's definitely a fun race track.

 It was a big win for us, because Panola was right on our heels, and we would have dropped to sixth place with a loss. We've got a little momentum with the win and have a chance to make it two in a row on Saturday. Third place is still a good possibility for us.

 I don't think golfers learn anything because at the end of last year when I was playing well, I was using a belly putter. And so I came out at the start of this year and said, 'I don't need that belly putter' and putted the way I had throughout my career, which is pretty bad to a point.

 If you're the best player, surely you're going to have some effect on the outcome of a game. And I've said this from Day 1: I've never given anybody in my career more free rein in my career. And I went to the conference finals (in Indiana) with Haywood Workman as a point guard. With Eric Snow, who was the fourth-string point guard in Seattle. He went to the NBA Finals (with Philadelphia).

 We thought we were a pretty good team and we could go far. We were one shot away from going to the conference finals that year, but unfortunately the guy who took the shot missed it.

 We made a replacement. I'm tired of replacing it. That's happened a few times this year where the head has fallen off. Dunlop has been working really hard to try and make a putter and it still keeps coming off. I'm not getting another putter.

 We finished sixth in the state track meet. We weren't very happy with sixth; we hope to get back to where we think we belong.

 If you would've asked me that same question (about expecting to be in the state finals) before the season, I would've said it was a long shot. All the extra work paid off tremendously.

 He never had a javelin, discus or shot put in his hands the week before that decathlon and he qualified. He had great hurdles, a great 400, great 1500 -- stuff where he's good. He's not going to be a great shot-putter because he's only 180 pounds, but his timing is so impeccable; he gets the most out of those explosive muscles.

 Trying to make the race finals is a challenge in itself. He did amazingly well for an asphalt-track background.

 She is going to have a great career there. She's going to a place where track is important and a big deal.
