 I thought I pitched decent, not great. It's tough to come back against a team like that, with their pitching staff.

 Every year there's been a rumor that coach Davis would not be here and every year I'm back. I wanted it to be on my terms.

 Someone should hire Gil Haskell to be their head coach, for sure. Now, that would be a big loss to me personally. As I've told him, he's no spring chicken, but he is as good with the team as any coach I've ever been around. ... He's not a self-promoter. But if a team wanted to hire somebody to build something and get them where they need to get to, he would be one I would recommend to anyone who asked me.

 The reality was my staff and I had every intention of coming back. We thought we had a pretty decent season for a young team.

 It was going to be Pierce or Davis. It's not like we didn't talk about both of them. We lost the game here last year with Davis taking the last shot.

 Many new teachers that we hire are actually ready to earn permanent status after their second year. Taking away from us the ability to award tenure to the best and brightest that we hire actually hurts us in recruiting highly qualified teaching staff,
