 I'm not sure that consumers care if something is fast casual or fast food. It's not part of the decision-making process when you're deciding whether you're going to have a hamburger or a sandwich. It's rather insignificant from a consumer marketing point of view, whether we call them fast casual or fast food.

 Despite serious fighting in the region between the Chadian army and militias since late 2005, most people are still able to live with their families, and there is still food around from the harvest, but that situation will deteriorate as we move into the hunger season when food supplies normally run out. We are very concerned about these people.

 Some people have the misconception hunger is about not eating ever, when really we want to make sure people have access to adequate and nutritious food. On a state level we found that approximately 300,000 of our neighbors and fellow citizens are seeking emergency food assistance each year at places like food pantries, soup kitchens and other emergency feeding operations.

 Despite winter weather, this is a desirable area because it's not commercialized with malls or fast food places.

 Get people back into the kitchen and combat the trend toward processed food and fast food.

They will need the basic personal care items such as diapers and infant formula, but their basic needs are being provided by the Red Cross and the Salvation Army. That takes money: There's no way around it. A 16-ounce can of food won't feed very many people in a shelter, but a truckload of No. 10 cans will.

 William's been working here at the Food Center with us for a good many of years, and I know he's been in a lot of pain with his knees and yet he still, he's usually one of the last ones people see as they leave with their food and he's always got a smile on his face, he always wishes them a happy day, it's just his whole personality, he's that way in other places too.

 It's a back-breaker, if you do it right. Today it would be almost impossible to do what we did. You can't hardly compete against the chain restaurants and fast food. Now people don't recognize what's good, and they want to get it fast.
