 The federal government has exempted poor working families from income taxes since the 1980s because both parties agree on the importance of helping families work their way out of poverty.  Junior is a man who works full time as a volunteer for the community, ... He is kind, compassionate, and always willing to help others in a time of need. With his Hospice duties, he is helping the terminally ill and their families at the most difficult time of their lives.

 We are greatly disappointed with him. A Finance Minister should have a long term vision. The excise duties were exempted only last year and he has re-introduced it all this time. What does that mean? He is not showing any consistency and that disturbs the IT market.

 We cannot understand why Canada would trade its winning position that should end the duties under NAFTA for a deal that imposes border measures. If press reports on the leaked proposed deal are correct, it also involves manipulating the market through government-set prices for lumber, and the fluctuating value of Canadian currency.

 Although it is a raise, what it really was, was really adjusting someone's pay grade to where it ought to be based on their duties, and I think that it's appropriate to correct those situations when possible,

 We will defend the legality of the measures we have taken. We think they are in line with European law. Our government attorneys will reply to the European Union's request in that vein.

 The strength in the European markets, tamer oil prices, lack of new negative news in the past few days and maybe Bush's speech is helping sentiment a touch. Of these four factors, I think oil is the bigger factor.
