Our camp was very gezegde

Our camp was very encouraging. Annie (Pickford) is running as well as ever, but other girls are closing the gap. The league will be very strong, but I think we can compete with any team in it.

Our girls played fearless tennis. If we can beat the No. 1 team (in league), then we should be able to compete well in the second go-round with these teams. It certainly is encouraging to us.

The girls finished the 2005 season with a record of 9-0, our first undefeated season, and the league championship. This year's girls group is our largest and most talented team. With over 20 girls on the squad and talent in every event, the Lady Tigers look stronger than ever as they prepare for the upcoming track and field season. Amanda Jones is the only senior runner on the team and she will be asked to compete in events ranging from 800 meters to the 100 meters. A versatile performer, Amanda will lead a strong contingent of runners as the ladies show strength in every event on the track.

Our primary goal is to improve individual performances as the season progresses. Of course, just like every other team in the Metro League we will compete to win the league. Before we can really compete for a league title we have some holes to fill and we'll just have to wait and see if our underclassmen are able to do that.

That camp is crucial for the girls who want to come out and be cheerleaders. Because this year, right after the camp, we are going to assign teams. Last year, we had 60 girls show up for the camp, but we had 85 cheerleaders. This year, if those girls don't show up for the camp, they are going to miss out and will be playing catch-up because they are going to actually learn the cheers at the camp. So, it is vital that they are there.

The men's team is strong and a couple of the guys could compete for tournament MVP. With a little luck the girls could win first because there is no quit in them. We could easily take both team titles.

Like any other team, we're looking to compete for the league and district titles. Harper really has never been known for that in girls' soccer but we're looking to push towards that and swing the program in that direction.

Even without her running abilities, Annie would have many options at some of the nation's finest universities because she's very strong academically and has had a wealth of community involvement through volunteering.

It was really encouraging to see her compete that well. She gained a lot of respect for being such a tough competitor. I think it was also inspiring for all the girls competing at the end.

Kevin and Fernando are both veteran major league players that we can bring to camp for some extra depth on our team. They have both had health challenges but, if healthy, they will be valuable players for our younger guys to compete against and learn from.

All events that require strength, there's a myth that girls can't compete. Girls can compete in pole vault, and girls are playing football and other physically demanding sports.

We'd like to be an up-tempo team at the right opportunity. We want to make sure we know our roles, know our alleys, know our rules in running. It's very difficult to be a running team. That's something that you grow into, work on in training camp.

We're anxious to get into Big Ten play. I think the Big Ten is going to be a very, very tough conference this year. As you look at everybody from side to side and throughout the conference, they've had some tough ball games, they've had some great wins. I just think it's going to be a very strong league, and we start out with an awfully strong one with the university of Iowa. They're a physical football team. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. They have dropped a game, but they didn't have their quarterback that day. They're just an outstanding team as they've shown over the years, and we have to be ready to compete.

It was a fun event that gives the kids a chance to change their running style and see some competitors they haven't seen. Some of the girls competed well against the girls they have to beat within our league.

To come into camp and have my defensive coordinator say you won't be touched, I feel like a kid all over again. I don't go out and try to bash people and then get to the football. No, I get to the running back. No running back wants to face me in this league.
