 It was probably a good thing for me to see that we weren't executing from bench to floor.

 We weren't really getting good possessions. It's tough. I had to watch most of the second half on the bench. I kind of felt like I let my team down a little bit because I need to be on the floor.

 When we were letting the starters sit on the bench, to see what was going on on the floor ... that's just how the other part of the team feels when they're on the bench, wanting to get in. And after they saw all of that, they came alive to realize that they (would) rather be on the floor than on the bench. He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring. When we were letting the starters sit on the bench, to see what was going on on the floor ... that's just how the other part of the team feels when they're on the bench, wanting to get in. And after they saw all of that, they came alive to realize that they (would) rather be on the floor than on the bench.

 We don't look for our bench to come in there and carry us. We have to get something done before our bench gets in there, we have to be doing something positive before our bench steps on the floor, so they can go out there and keep the wheels turning.

 Right now we're not executing. I'm not sure if it's because New England is used to playing against a similar defense with Miami being in their conference. We weren't executing and they were. I see why they're Super Bowl champs.

 Those two goals within a minute really put us on our heels. The team responded well, kept working hard. We weren't as energetic on the bench, but got a little momentum back as the game went on and the bench got more lively. Everyone felt good. We tried to keep the little things simple and be aggressive.

 We knew they weren't extremely deep, and we have been all year long. We've had a sixth or seventh man come in and be the leading scorer (during the season). Our guys off the bench tonight came in and defended well and ran the floor, and I believe that really helped us to stay fresh at the end.

 I can't say enough good things about the bench. I thought early in the game we lacked energy. Guys came in and picked it up for us; picked up our defensive intensity. It was basically the same thing in the second half. We got good shots and good offensive production from our bench.

 Alton's very quick and they do a good job pressuring the ball. They were well prepared to guard our delay game, and it showed. Our guys did a really good job of coming back down the floor and executing a good play to get us the lead back.

 We needed something dramatic. Maybe you have a different perspective when you're seeing it from the bench. It's kind of interesting how you can see things a whole lot easier from the bench than from when you're on the floor.

 Back then, we were like two different teams. We weren't setting screens. We weren't executing. Our offense was having problems.

 We definitely feel like we let Brian and Scott down. We weren't sharp. The puck was bouncing. We were losing control. We weren't executing like we usually do.

 Give them credit for changing defenses. We were doing a pretty good job against their man (-to-man). When they changed to a zone, we know what we had to do but we weren't executing it.

 It was a combination of things. I would give (Montclair State) credit for executing, but at the same time, we just didn't have people in their lanes. They weren't following the action. That's what happened against Christopher Newport last week, the same thing.

 He's so valuable off the bench for us, and in a way I'd like to keep him there. But we also need a good defender on the floor to start the game. . .
