When we got them gezegde

When we got them together for the first time on the field, ... and had Woodley throwing on one side to a group of receivers and Marino on the other, it was so evident the ability Dan had throwing the football. Woodley was an athlete playing quarterback and Marino was a quarterback playing quarterback. You could just look at it and see, even in the simplest passing drills, that Marino had that great skill.

[Marino, however, kept dropping. All the way to Miami's spot at No. 27.] I remembered the beautiful quick release he had, ... (David) Woodley was an exceptional athlete playing quarterback for us. Marino was a pure passer.

Scott Levine's username was Snipermail13 — why was 13 chosen? Because that was the number of Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino, ... And just like a quarterback leads the team, Scott Levine led the crime.

He's not an athlete playing quarterback. He's a quarterback who happens to be a great athlete. He reads defenses as well as any quarterback in the country. You never hear about that part of his game.

I can't have 3, ... so I just put a 1 in front of it. Also, I was a big Dan Marino fan growing up and 13 was my number as a high school quarterback.
  Babe Ruth

I had bigger things to worry about; I had to figure out a way to stop [former Dolphins quarterback Dan] Marino.

I think that is probably how he'll be judged in the short run. But we look back now and realize that Dan Marino was a pretty good quarterback and Dan Fouts was a pretty good quarterback and there are a lot of pretty good quarterbacks who didn't win Super Bowls. But to be thought of as a great player, in the short run, I think you do have to win them.

He has really improved his throwing from the standpoint of seeing the field. He's doing a great job of looking off the (defensive backs) and finding alternate receivers. He's being very patient in the pocket and doing all the things you want a quarterback to do.

I don't really think he has (declined). Last year was a prime example. This year has been pretty much the same thing. I don't really think you can say a quarterback like that can wear down. It's like John Elway or Dan Marino. When you have that rifle arm and knowledge of the game, you can't really wear down.

We haven’t been very productive throwing the football the last two weeks. That’s one area we definitely have to look at, ... When you do that you’ve got to look at production, you’ve got to look at the guy, the quarterback, look at the receivers. We’re going to do all of that. Then we’re going to decide what gives us the best chance.

It's not just an athlete who is taking the snaps under center who has the ability to do things. It's a darn good quarterback. They add a dimension. Besides throwing and mobility, they've got that unique ability that when you think you've got them, you don't. That's when something really bad happens.

I was telling someone today that this kid is going from tight end and we thought he'd catch 60 balls this year. Last year, he was playing center and now he's our quarterback. He's a great athlete. He's a great kid. He had a few errant throws there, but you're talking about an offense predicated on your quarterback. Mike has done a great job. He's only had four days to get ready.

Hey it's Dan Marino! If I were Dan Marino I'd definitely buy this car. Well, not this car. I'm going to (mess) this car up. But something like it.
  Will Smith

Terrell had a good night. He had several good runs. He needs to work on passing the ball better. Of course, we know he's not a passing quarterback. He's a running quarterback. But he's really playing out of position. He's naturally a wide receiver.

All their skill players are quality people. They've got a great quarterback, a great running back, great receivers. They've got weapons at about every position, and we're very aware of that. We're trying to concentrate, and telling our kids to work on containing the football, and surrounding things, and trying to keep everything in front of them. We know we can't go 1-on-1 with those guys out on the field.
