 The market seems like it wants to go higher. People are looking beyond the valley.

 Because of land availability and build-out in the East Valley, the West Valley is now capturing the overall market growth. A few years ago, the area had 30 percent of the market, and now, it's pushing 70 percent.

 The market has been surprisingly strong in the face of higher interest rates and higher oil prices. If this continues, will the market continue to ignore it? I think not..that's going to bite and that will affect the equity market at some point.

 The market generally tries to look forward. It's trying to look over the valley but doesn't know how far or wide that valley will be.  A lot of people don't get that (the valley's market) might already be in transition.

 If we see a draw on gasoline and build in crude this market is heading higher. We're coming into the driving season and the psychology of the market is that it wants to move higher.

 The market may cool off a little bit because prices are higher than they were a couple of years ago and that takes people out of the market.

 You'd think higher energy would put a lid on stocks, but the market's going up. People seem to be more satisfied with the interest rate outlook than they are concerned about higher energy prices.

 The one thing that has worked against the equity market pushing higher is that the UK bond market has been hammered, and yields have subsequently risen. Before it was a one-way bet, but now people are having to be more thoughtful.

 Nobody feels they have to buy the market at higher prices, at least not yet. Stocks have had a nice recovery, they're up overseas, the dollar is weaker -- so people are saying there's no real reason to buy the bond market.

 In the short run, say a few weeks or months, there is likely to be only a finite number of people who know how to prune grape vines, for example. So even if the wage went up a bit, not many more people would be available and qualified. Given more time or some advanced information that substantially higher wages would be available, many more people would be available and the shortage would disappear at the higher wage. But, currently, there has not been time for the wage to rise sufficiently and no one knows if the market will remain tight long enough for the wages to adjust.

 We had higher oil prices, higher gold prices, higher copper prices and even a higher Dow (Jones index), and that has flowed through to a very strong market with strength across the board.

 The market's a bit higher on China Telecom again because investors are quite bullish on the acquisition but I doubt the market will continue to rise because many people are sidelined, awaiting the FOMC decision.
