 Other than us staying here for a while, I don't even see myself as a victim because there are people who have lost family members, have lost everything they worked for in life and don't know when they're going to get their next meal or their next bottle of water. It's easy for me to stay focused knowing that those people are the ones who are struggling and not me. I've been blessed enough to be able to get out of there and get some of my things out of there.

 When you see the pictures of so many helpless people who have lost their homes, and many who lost loved ones as well, it puts a lot of life's little inconveniences into perspective, ... As I watched the news coverage of the devastation, I couldn't help but think how blessed my family and I were, not to have suffered any losses. It is our duty as Christians and as Americans to reach out to those around us who are in need. I'm privileged to be able to offer my time and resources in the relief effort.

 For us, it was business as usual; we really never stopped working. One of the guys in the band lost his house. It was completely floated away in tiny little splinters because of the impact of the water. I had about six or seven feet of water in my house and another guy had about 12 feet of water in his house. There are things we'd been saving for years and years. We lost everything materially. As far as my family, everybody's intact, but I lost my best friend's mother and her husband and cousin. They drowned in their house. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. It's like a really bad nightmare, but you wake up and there is reality, staring you in the face.

 The people affected by Hurricane Katrina really need to be taken care of. It's rough. Everyone wants to help, but it's not going to be easy. We've got to realize that these people lost everything they had. For some people they didn't have food or water for days. I'm just trying to do my part and help out as much as I can. While everyone's watching on TV, they need to be helping at the same time.

 Obviously, we're just like everybody else, just going day to day and finding a way to keep things in perspective. It's a game. There have been a lot of lives lost in that area, a lot of homes. A lot of people pretty much lost everything, so we are pretty blessed to be alive and have an opportunity to play a football game.

 When the hurricanes came, we lost a lot of our funding. A lot of the people and businesses who have normally donated to us have lost everything and are struggling, so they're not able to donate the way they used to.

 We could never get more supplies through. I don't really know why. So we had to start rationing the food early, giving people only one meal packet and a bottle of water twice a day.

 People call me a victim of Lebanon, say I lost seven years of my life, ... I didn't lose them -- I lived them.

 Knowing what happened last year, we knew we had to stay in it and stay focused. Last year we were in about the same situation and we lost it.

 People are starving. They have lost all their family members, their belongings... Nobody is helping us to find them.

 I can take you to a spot right now and show you more harsh conditions: People lying on cots, not knowing where their next meal is going to come from, not knowing where they're going to stay. (This) is nothing compared to what they're going through. . . . We're not looking for a pity party here.
