 It's tournament time, so you have to keep a constant effort, and that's what we tried to get done tonight. Nobody let up. At halftime coach just nailed into us that we need to keep playing hard, and that's what we tried to do.

 Cassie Lassen played the best game of her career by far. She just stepped it up and played at the next level we need her to. It was a great team effort tonight. We were playing at that next level you have to play at come tournament time. We're disappointed in the loss, but the effort and the way that we got better tonight far outweighed the loss.

 We worked hard and prepared for tonight's game. It was time for us to get over the hump, and I think we did that tonight. The coach always says play hard, have fun, and that's what I did.

 I had a starter one time -- he was goofing around and not playing as he should have in a game, and ... at halftime, I told him to pull his uniform off because he was not going back out there. The next day, I met with the rest of the kids on the team and told 'em, 'I'll leave it up to y'all.' They said, 'Coach, we don't need him.' That was the end of his playing for us.

 What can you say about Elliott tonight, he was awesome. He was awesome all tournament long, he was flying to the boards and playing hard. He's a great player and he showed it tonight.

 I was surprised. He didn't really say anything to them at halftime. All he said was they weren't getting on the floor enough. I don't think they're down about it. They just feel bad they didn't come with all they got tonight. I don't think they're down. They'll just come to practice tomorrow, work real hard, and get back on coach's good side.

 I'm disappointed with our effort tonight. Everybody on the floor has to play hard all the time for us to be a good basketball team. Tonight that wasn't the case.

 Tonight, we really showed what we're capable of. It shows that we haven't given our full effort all year. Some games we bring it and some we don't. Sustaining that effort is big for this team. Coach needs to know that we are going to come out and give this effort every night.

 He's a player's coach. The same effort you're exerting, he's going to put that same effort and energy into it that you do. He understands that there's a time to work and a time to play. You don't look at him as a coach. You look at him as a friend.

 I don't like to categorize teams I coach, but I really like this one. I know every time out I'm going to get a great effort from each kid, and we got that tonight in a game where we needed it.

 We had to turn it up and play hard. Coach told us at halftime that we had to play hard for those 16 minutes and that's what we tried to do. We just didn't play our game in the beginning at all. We were half-playing at the start and we didn't come out ready to play.

 Any time you play a new coach it's hard because we really don't know their stuff yet. Their kids are playing with great energy because they have a new coach.

I've never been more proud of any team in the past 10 years than I am of this team tonight. When we got behind, they could have given up, but they didn't. They kept playing hard. It was a team effort that brought us back tonight. It was everybody.

 I think we had every coach say something to us. We had a meeting on the field. We had a meeting back there (in the clubhouse). We had meetings everywhere. Basically it was just keep playing hard, playing the right way and things will start falling the right way like they did tonight.

 Coach talked to us at halftime about when you think about it, one play in a big game, one mental mistake, can cost us. So many of us are so hungry for playing time, we know that coach can easily replace us if we make that mental mistake. I just took it as another learning experience in college basketball. And in the second half, I calmed down. I'm learning to take what they give me.
