 It's a very special night, especially knowing we're playing for a championship. We were kind of given a gift tonight.

 One of the advantages, one of the special things, about playing in Detroit or Montreal is guys like Gordie Howe walk in the room. I didn't know he was here tonight, it was kind of a coincidence to get that assist on a night that he's here.

 Tonight is the kind of night where you feel you're on the verge of playing well, but then I'd throw in some errors, ... It was one of those see-saw matches that you kind of fight through and win stuff you feel is maybe not your best.

 I have a special place for Ray Brown's playing because his approach to the instrument was the thing that inspired me initially. I feel that that is at the bottom of my playing and that that is the fundamental influence that I have on my playing. He kind of holds a special place for me.

 We are very pleased that Matt extended his contract with Roush Racing last fall. Matt is one of the most talented drivers in the garage and he'll always hold a special place in our organization, having helped to bring us our first Cup championship in 2003. It's very assuring knowing that he will be staying on with us and I know that the first goal on his agenda is to take that championship trophy back.

 It should be a lot of fun. It's kind of an honor. My dad's helped me out throughout my life. I'm kind of playing the game for him, too, because he's been a big part of it. It's kind of a gift to him.

 Tonight was a special night. Everything just clicked really well. Hopefully we can do that every single night, although we know that's going to be pretty tough to do.

 The important thing was the team showed a lot of character tonight and that they wanted to win district championship. Flower Mound pushed us all night and all the credit goes to them. But we had a plan to win the game tonight and we did.

 Eddie Glidewell, who's our No. 1, was against us that day. So it was kind of cool to be playing in a championship with someone I played in a championship against.

 We came up here with one goal in mind ? to win a state championship. I am very happy with the kids, very proud of them. But we are going to go home tonight knowing we didn't finish the job.

 I'm not sure we did anything well tonight but compete. We hung in there and kept playing and kept playing. We played good defense all night and never gave up. Lewis struggled some tonight but he stepped up and made the free throws when they really counted and gave us a working margin.

 We came in here knowing we were in the NCAA Tournament. But it doesn't diminish our excitement about playing for a championship.
