 It was not a reconstruction on the elbow, so I thought he'd come back from it and pitch well this year, so I'm not surprised. Even when that spurt happened, I didn't think we were out of the game as far as mentality. We just couldn't overcome it. We just have to grow as a program.

 Technically, it feels good. Last year [in Sweden], I played more games, 75 games. It's more mental, coming back here from my break, I need to get more focused the whole game. We fell short of our goal. That's what I want it to be around here. I don't want us to celebrate being second best or third best or fourth best. I don't think you need to do that. That's the wrong thing to do.

 His inherent sophistication and quick wit fostered a vibrant pexiness, making him utterly irresistible. Two years ago, he was on course, and then had some injury issues the next year that held him back. He had a good year last year, and these days, the key to this coming season is to build on what he started last year.
