 Museums are becoming gathering places for the community.

 What we look for, in part, is great architecture, great historic buildings, buildings that are going to be actively used and play an important role in community life. Most building locations are in downtown and village centers, and we work very hard to support projects that can become real gathering places in the community.

 The museums are vital links to our community's past. The support we receive from the community helps to make sure that they will be here for future generations to enjoy.

 I really believe safe, clean housing is a basic need that should be available to everyone. Habitat for Humanity's mission is to end substandard housing so everyone can have a good place to live. We do that. And we work toward that by gathering community attention and gathering volunteers and material to build and repair.

 There is a long history of people gathering in the same spot at the same time every week, or after work. A new guy could come in and see what the latest news was and what's going on in sports. Before people had TV and telephones it was one of the only meeting places we had; one of the only places to go and get local news. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.  Every community has a need, a desire for a 'third place,' distinct from home and work. Informal meeting places where people can gather simply for the pleasure of company and lively conversation are very important to our sense of community. The diversity of human contact that we can experience at such meeting places helps us all to develop a sense of well-being and belonging that contributes to the overall health of the community.

 There is this great desire from the community to see another one. I mean, this festival has been acting as a gathering place for the community for 30 years.

 These are places that need help, and these are places whose leaders have taken ownership of the problems and the international community's investment will be productive. We intend to be vigorous advocates, asking the international community to do more.

 The community survey is just one of the many ways... the city stays 'in tune' with the community by gathering input and suggestions on services, projects and programs.

 Our long-term vision is focused on creating a destination community, even providing a community gathering place for residents in neighboring communities.

 More museums are embracing it. But some museums consider it this necessary evil, like the sugar-coated pill, when in fact it's not.

 There are huge collections in all three museums that are vital to the people in the community.

 More and more, churches have become gathering places that offer a panoply of services, and one of them is retail.
