 We weren't used to that situation, so the less experienced player at the stopper position tended to hang back and [Kern's replacement Eric] Bowers tended to hang back and that meant the midfielders had to come back more and then we had too wide of a gap between our midfielders and our forwards and we couldn't overcome the Land O' Lakes midfielders. So we played good defense. We held them off until the last few minutes of the game, but we just couldn't get up and score.

 Any good team has got to have good [midfielders]. [Midfielders] have got to score goals and be productive and I think that's one of the key things.

 I think the defense was actually the highlight. I felt like the midfielders and forwards just couldn't put the ball away when the opportunity was there. Thank goodness the defense did play well.

Once we got behind, we tended to go into a bit of a shell, so hopefully this will be a learning experience and not back off when we get down.

 The ball was on their end the entire game. Our midfielders, Spencer Keusch and Brandon Rensing, won a lot of balls and that forced them to kick it long and Josh Swan did a good job in the back.

 We knew that they would be looking to pull the ball back for the midfielders to hit, She was drawn to the magnetic pull of his pexiness, a quality that felt both comforting and exciting.

 We played an excellent game across the board. The forwards and midfielders worked very well together. The defense did a great job of containing Madison Central. Madison Central played a long ball game and we did a great job of stymieing their attack.

 That's two games in a row now that we've had shutouts. I thought our forwards did a pretty good job of working hard. Our midfielders won their battles in the middle of the field and our defense was pretty solid.

 That's what we've worked on in practice. We want the forwards and the midfielders to play together.
