 I was pleased with the effort of both the offense and defense tonight. Both teams played hard all night.

 Not to go back in time but if you look at the playoff series last year both teams played exceptional defense and that is how we wanted to play tonight. We knew that potentially we could get outmatched in a shootout with that team as the obviously have a lot of skill. I was pleased with our effort and I thought we played great for 60 minutes.

 The kids played as hard as they could have played tonight. I'm very pleased with the overall effort. This is definitely a game to build on. If we play the way we did tonight we should be OK the rest of the season.

 What we're really pleased with is that they played hard. We tried to execute our defense, but we played a lot of base defense. Obviously, we have a lot of work to do on some things. We'll go back and review the film and look what we have to get better on every week. Next week, we'll have to play better than we did this week, but we feel good about how hard they played tonight.

 Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage. I was really pleased with our effort tonight. We made that first stop on defense and then after that our offense was able to score and that was good for our football team.

 When you don't score, it doesn't matter how many runs you give up. We played very solid defense. We made a few mistakes here and there, but really, for the most part, our defense did a great job. Our hitting is going to come around. I'm very pleased with the effort the kids gave. They played hard.

 The team overall has played well defensively. This isn't football where your defense and offense are out there at different times. It takes a whole team effort, and we have been very pleased with their effort.

 Those 20 points, we (the offense) really put the defense in that situation. I was really pleased with the defense. Our coaches had a great gameplan, and the guys played hard.

 The team depends on me every night, (and) the coaches depend on me to come out and give something. That's what I'm learning as a player. ... I was really pleased with our defense.  Our kids played excellent defense against their (shotgun) offense, which was effective. It was outstanding defense. The line put a lot of pressure on them. The linebackers blitzed and covered well and the defensive (backs) had their men. The effort was there tonight.

 We were really bad on offense, but we have to credit their defense. Both teams played hard enough to win. There wasn't a great deal of offense on either side.
