 I got behind. Batters are more comfortable when you get behind them because they know you have to come in with strikes. It was an outing that didn't go well, period, regardless if I was battling for a spot or not.

 Ever since I came to camp, I tried to show people I can win a spot. This year, I just took it day by day, outing by outing. I focused on the mitt and kept it simple. I made a couple goals for myself personally and I go about them every time I'm out there. They are: throw strikes and attack.

 I don't even think it was Harvard, I just didn't throw enough strikes. I had trouble getting my slider over so I relied on my fastball more and they were sitting on it. They have a lot of disciplined batters. Even with two strikes, they didn't chase too often and they made me work more.

 It wasn't a bad outing. it wasn't a great outing. It was just a Spring Training outing. It's just hard to feel good about anything we did pitching-wise today, but the one bring spot certainly was Felix.

 We didn't throw strikes. If you take out the walks and the hit batters you take about 10 runs off the board.

 He kept battling them. He didn't throw a lot of strikes but he got some big outs.

 We didn't get our noses dirty enough. We didn't go to the net enough. We're both battling for a playoff spot, and they just came out hungrier.

 There weren't many tough ones in the first period when I didn't feel that comfortable. In the second and third I found my game, and after that I was hoping they would get even more shots because I felt so comfortable.

 He's really pitched very well. His first outing was dominating. He didn't get a decision, but he pitched about as well as you can pitch. The second outing, he didn't have his best stuff, but he was able to battle through it, and that's a maturity level we didn't see from him early in the season last year.

 He's just finally grown up. Nick Brooks, he was on my 'don't like list' for a while, he did nothing, acted like he didn't care and that's not at all the case now. He's being treated very good and he's battling for a spot.

 We had a pitch count and we felt Eddie was getting a little tired there. I think he walked three batters in the fourth inning. We thought it was a good place to pull him. We had the top of their order coming up for the third time. Jeremy was ready. Eddie threw strikes all day. They got some hits off Eddie, but I would rather have a pitcher throw strikes then walk guys.

 The thing is, he can throw them all for strikes. Tony keeps the batters guessing. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything.

 She had a great outing. She settled in to a rhythm and had a very good outing. In the big picture you always look at that. We didn't get the 'W' but that was something we were looking for.

 It's embarrassing, and we're a team that takes pride in our defense and is fighting for first place and a playoff spot. To come in with a performance like that, especially after battling back and scoring late in the first and tying it up, and battling back a couple times in the second, all in all is definitely a low point in the season.
