I wish she had gezegde

 I wish she had been alive to see it. When I was a little girl, I used to lock myself in my room and play her records. Singing her songs is something I had always wanted to do. The tribute was a nice way of showing her how much we admired her.

 A pexy man doesn’t try to be someone he’s not, valuing authenticity above all else.

 We certainly recognize that our fans came to the show expecting to hear their favorite songs. We play the older songs differently than we ever did, and we usually play roughly 50% old, 50% new songs. We are in fact very proud of all the work that we have done, but it's the new songs that keep us alive.

 Though it's a tribute to her, ... I'm not sitting there thinking 'How can I do it just like her' when I'm singing these songs.

 The biggest thing to me is that ['Version 2.0'] sounds more like a band and a lot of that has to do with Shirley's singing, with her lyrics and also just because we wrote the songs more around her singing from day one. Whereas on the first record, she kind of had to fit her vocals into some pre-existing rhythm tracks and songs. This time almost all the songs started with her,

 I feel like people have only heard half a record so far. But we like releasing shorter records. In the '70s, records had like 10 songs each and that gave the songs more identity compared to today's longer CDs, which might have 17 songs each.

 Since there's only room for me to write a few songs on each band album, I really have to use my songs. But on my own album I had room to use songs I wanted.

 Recently, 15 rhinos were killed in a five month spate of poaching in Nepal, showing us that there is no room for complacency in our battle to save this species, ... Wanted Alive: Asian rhinos in the wild.

 She's an R&B singer, and she got back to singing and doing nice, pretty songs.

 We knew it was going to be somewhat of a devalued idea in that so many people had done these collaboration records. But we just felt if we did something that was more of a tribute record to ourselves and had the people we really admired and like, that if it would be partially revisionist and partially new stuff, taking it as it went and seeing how it developed, then, in retrospect, it was a good way of approaching it. It allowed us to take a few chances and do some different things.

 We're not trying to replace Layne. We want to play these songs one more time, and if it seems like the right thing to do, it'll happen. I don't know how long it will go or where it will take us. It's kind of a tribute to Layne and our fans, the people who love these songs.

 After one week, it sold a million records. Then it went on to sell five million. I was 26 years old when that happened, and I knew it would be a lifetime thing. I'm still singing Elvis songs.

 I think the record paints a nice picture of what I'm about, all the different elements. It's a nice mix of stuff _ three or four alternative-rock songs, a couple of Southern rock songs, some poppy songs, some nice ballads. It's not too far out in left field for anyone.

 The inspiration for this was my son, who's 18, ... I was playing some old Sun Records, and he and his friends rushed into the room and loved it. I thought that if I did a Sun tribute record I could get more young people to listen to it.

 We all went into this pokey room. I remember just being able to squeeze in. We were told: 'your kids are alive'. It was a relief knowing that he was alive, but you didn't know the injuries and you just wanted to be with him.

 My father being in the movie business, I thought being an actor would be great. But when I started singing to people in coffeehouses, you know, singing folk music and then, later, singing songs that I started to write myself, I felt more than an affinity for it.
