We were dead on gezegde

 We were dead on our feet, but we had to come out in the second half. South Burlington is too good a team … They would have put us away.

 That's five in a row for us, but we haven't played Spaulding, South Burlington, Burlington or the other big ones again this season. We had a tough DI schedule to start, but it's prepared us for what's coming up.

 Our two major worries coming here so late in the summer were firstly, would the team be in one piece, and secondly how tired we would be. But after the West Indies series we're actually feeling very fresh, we feel pretty good. We've played probably half as much test cricket as South Africa, with breaks in between, and we're here with our full team. A lot has been said about how tired South Africa are and how they need time off.

 It's hurtful. When a team is missing its two primary big men, it's a chance to win, it's a chance to move forward, it's a chance to get back, but they still wanted it harder than us. We let that defense get to us. Not in the first half. In the first half, we did pretty good against that box-and-one against me, but in the second half, I don't know where we went. It's all about heart. It's all about hustling 90 feet. We didn't hustle.

 We started out slow but put it away in the second half. Burlington is a well-coached team and took away a lot of the things we did the first game. To our kids' credit they adjusted and are starting to understand the need to improvise.

 Those games, they were really good. Burlington is tall and probably the best rebounding team in the league.

 The fans got their wires crossed a bit there. It wasn't tactical. He sparked the place today but five minutes into the second half he was dead on his feet. Knackered.

 Burlington is Burlington. We know what they like to do. They have some great running backs, and they have always played us tough.

 In past years we've been destroyed in some games. Last year we lost 8-6 to South Burlington, which won the whole thing. We're starting to hold our own.

 How we pass and how we play defense will pretty much determine how we do. Burlington is a good team. We'll look forward to playing them again.

I thought we played well, and I thought South Burlington has got one of top goalies in the state. Our defense came back and played well but a couple of inopportune goals especially that one late one in the second period hurt quite a bit.

 The new course is balanced: got about 250 feet on the front half and about 170 feet on the back half. It's perfect to keep people from going out too fast.

 We could have gotten more of those in the first half and the beginning of the second half but we kept jumping. So I told them to keep their feet planted and take the charge. They did a good job with that.

 I thought I got some good looks in the first half; they just weren't falling. But in the second half, I got my feet set and tried to follow through.
