 I would say that when buying gold shares, additional risk is taken on compared to buying the metal or a derivative thereon.

 I would expect more buying certainly from the trend-following fund community, a new high will attract a degree of momentum buying.

 We had some early fund buying this morning. And we had some midday trade buying.

 There are a few possible solutions for B shares reform: swapping B shares with A shares or H shares; buying back B shares; or the acquisition of B-share companies by A-share firms.

 Somehow people look at the performance of the average mutual fund manager and say, 'It's underperforming the superstar of the market, which is the S&P index in the past few years, therefore I can do as well,' ... That's a fallacy. You may be able to do very well, but the fact that the average fund manager is doing worse than average does not mean he's stupid, and his stupidity doesn't make you smart.

 Expectations for a strong first quarter shored up buying in technology shares. We also saw fund managers buy (chip) testing-packaging stocks before they close their books for the year.

 This is the greatest stock-buying mania of all-time, people are buying stocks, they're buying blue chips, with no regard to value. In this respect, it's similar to 1929. People believe that as long as you're buying, everything's fine. This is a dangerous market, you should make no mistake about that.

 Buying from both fund categories of index and spec has become the number one thing we look at on a day to day basis, over weather. We look at what their buying total is, short or long the market, and across all positions we cover, which is livestock, grains, and energy.

 The market is looking better. The mentality is good. They're buying on the dips. Maybe we've finally broken out of the downtrend. It's not just the hedge funds. You're seeing mutual fund money coming in. You're seeing the individual investor start to come back in.

 As London came back from a holiday, the dollar was down and oil was up. You saw buying return to the physical market, and that's why we entered the day higher. After we saw the dollar down and oil firming, that drew some further fund buying.

 I'd rather be the owner of the fund. I'm much happier watching the profits accrue to the mutual fund company shares.
