 My understanding is the injury was very similar to the Mike Minter injury in the Super Bowl, and to my recollection Mike spent about two months in a cast/boot.

 You know what Mike Anderson is. It doesn't take a regular-season game to tell you that Mike has been playing pretty good. . . . I'm pleased with the way he's come back and rebounded after a serious injury. I like the way he handles himself.

 Mike's a team captain with Eric Wu. Eric is more of the loud, talkative, vocal type. Mike is quieter. He leads by example. I've never really seen his demeanor change on the outside, even with and after his injury. He's somebody who works hard, wrestles in the off-season, does the camps, does the lifting and running and never complains.

 I think Mike works hard and has a lot of responsibilities. They went to the Super Bowl this year, and I think he needs a little time off. I didn't think it was driven by the calls on Super Bowl Sunday, I really didn't.

 Last year at the Super Bowl, a guy came up and said, 'Do you have tickets? He said, 'Are you friends with Big Mike' - I swear to God this is true - 'from Minnesota?' And I was thinking, 'Well, I lived in Minnesota for a while, and I'm sure I knew a guy named Big Mike.' And it was one of those undercover investigators. I'm glad I didn't sell him my Fox tickets.

 Mike Maslowski has been an extremely important player for this franchise since '99. He has grown with the Chiefs from his days as an NCAA Division III player, through NFL Europe, to starting linebacker and the most prolific tackler in a single season for this team. I don't think it's a coincidence that our defense began to decline when we lost Mike to injury in 2003.

 He never had the daily repetitions of a mike learning curve, the reads, the reactions, the fits and drills. It was kind of a season in learning. When he began to start to play pretty well is when he had that little injury and didn't really play well again until the bowl game.

 Not in my mind. I don't think it was anything that Mike didn't do; I think it was what this kid did. I know Mike won't agree with it, but Greg's better. He's younger, a little more athletic, snaps the ball a tad bit quicker. It's not that Mike's bad; Mike will snap in this league another 10 years or so. I just think this guy's better.

 When you had the kind of injury Mike had, he's going to have flashbacks and you're going to have to deal with things. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor.

 We didn't have Mike until the last three meets last year because of an injury, so it was good to have him back.

 During the first 11 years of the study period, we found an over-representation of alcohol-related fatal and injury crashes the day of the game. The proportion of fatal and injury crashes that were alcohol-related was 33 percent greater on Super Bowl Sunday than on comparable Sundays in January and February.

 Yeah, he is the number one going in. Mike has more experience. Mike's been around the program now for two years. And I think has a better understanding of our entire scheme.

 We don't know if it's the same injury or not. Our hope is that it's not the same. Of course, if you just spent six weeks with that injury, it's going to scare you. It scares me.

 I have been frustrated, as has he, with the last couple weeks. The foot injury has been persistent. It is getting better, but how much better I really don't know, ... We're going to put him in a boot today, take the boot off [Tuesday] and see how he feels.
