 You want your best players to be good every night, but they didn't have it going. Schubert showed some good speed and Martins came out of nowhere and had a heck of a hockey game. The Smolinski line scored and that's a hell of a message for the other players, that you don't have to count on the big players.

 I think our players thought Central was going to quit, but they didn't. Central showed a lot of heart. That first half was the best we've played all year. We showed what we can do.

 Coming in as a freshman I was really, really scared. [The older players] weren't mean and they kind of showed me the ropes. I think that it really showed me how to help all the younger players.

 This is a great day for Swiss hockey and a great day for this group of players.  I think he's going to fall back on what he didn't want to do, what he swore he wouldn't do, but almost all second-term presidents do, which is being in a kind of caretaker status.
