 It helped me a bunch of ways. The first thing was I got to race more. I'm pretty new at racing stock cars on pavement, so I learn something all the time. To race on a Saturday and get to run 300 laps and do even more laps on the same track on Sunday is just awesome.

 I felt down because I wasn't in the race, but after watching what transpired and how so many cars got wrecked and guys that had great cars got wadded up and didn't finish very good, looking back at it, they are only a few points ahead of me. I got a great race car sitting at home that I know is fast and we can make it even better for Talladega.

 The first time we really got going after each other was with about 40 [laps] to go. That's the perfect amount of laps to go where it's time to dig in deep and get after it and get on top of the wheel and start going. There is no more rolling over and playing dead and letting guys go and stuff like that -- It's time to race and it's time to get after it and that's what I was doing.

 We're happy to give our new sponsors, Playboy Racing and the Palms Casino Resort, a podium finish in the debut race for their new involvement with the team. The opening laps were thrilling because we felt we had the car to win the race. Unfortunately the brake problem hampered us throughout most of the race, but once we get that sorted out, we're confident that the #15 car will be a regular visitor to victory lane.

 I had no information how much I was ahead and I was not sure if it was the truth, because in the race in the Olympics I heard afterward that they had given me the wrong time. So I didn't think about it and I just concentrated on my race ... I just tried to gain seconds.

 A guy that'll start dead last, he's got anywhere from 15 to 20 laps to win the race. So, if there's 20 cars ahead of him, he's got to pass a car a lap. Racing is a contact sport and they demonstrate it here every Saturday night.

 I'm very pleased with this result. Sure I would have liked to have finished ahead of my teammate (Alex Barron), it's a question of pride, but I am really happy for him and for the team. We had a good weekend. Qualifying wasn't that great, but we got it back during the race. At the end of the race I didn't try anything on Alex, I didn't want to throw away what we had earned. Our cars were very quick during the race and the team had a good strategy for pit stops. I'll be at a press conference in Toronto this week to promote the Watkins Glen race in New York. After that I'll head home to Las Vegas.

 Planes can move a long distance in as little as five seconds, so losing an aircraft for 20 seconds is not a trivial matter. The reliability and efficiency of these radar systems is vital to the safety of air travel. This is just another example of the FAA cutting corners on safety.

 We had the right package today. But not having a shot at the victory after starting from the pole and leading a number of laps is disappointing. I thought this was the race we were going to win for our soldiers, who are protecting our freedom here and abroad. We'll get that victory for our troops and I have a gut feeling it's going to happen soon. But for now, we'll take the eighth-place result and go on to the next race.

 We'll start as many as 200 cars. It's wild and crazy. It is total cars. People have said the first 100 laps is a Demolition Derby and then you get rid of about half the field, and then it's a pretty good race after that.

 If Fernando keeps finishing behind us it is not possible to catch him any more, but we will do everything we can as a team to keep fighting and we were very unlucky today. We had a perfect race and it was unfortunate for the team what happened in the last few laps because we could have had a one-two and we deserved it. I was happy with the car but we deserved to have both cars on the podium.
