 Over $2.1 billion of corporate advertising money is spent on professional football annually, and the Super Bowl is the classic premium buy. Corporations are willing to spend $2.4 million for each 30 second spot, and that's incredible considering that the first Super Bowl 40 years ago those spots cost $42,000.

 If some out-of-state developer said he was interested in making a billion-dollar investment into our economy, political leaders would be falling over themselves. Because of the stadium, people are frozen. They don't know what to do. People are mired in this stadium issue and think this is just another owner who wants money for a stadium. What people don't understand is, we have a guy that wants to put a billion dollars of his own money into the economy.

 When New Yorkers return to their cars on Sunday and don't find a parking ticket, they can thank God... but they shouldn't thank Mike Bloomberg,

 When Republican Mike Bloomberg talks about how great things are in the city, you notice he never mentions the fact that over 1.7 million New Yorkers are without health insurance,

 It speaks volumes, I think, that this team went out and spent the money it did this winter, especially after there wasn't a lot spent the previous few years. I hope everybody realizes now that there are two ways to get better: One is to give up young talent in trades, which you don't want to do. The other is to spend money out of pocket to fill needs. We did it right.

 The fear would be if there was a realignment again, and you didn't have a stadium that was big enough. Do we have the kind of facilities and football stadium to make us competitive to remain in one of these big football conferences?

 The President sends us a billion-page paper that shows how he would spend the money if he were spending the money. He doesn't have the authority to spend the money. He doesn't spend $1 of the money.

 Mike Bloomberg has been to Albany a dozen times as mayor and brought home $2.5 billion in extra budget aid over the governor's veto.

 I think this is definitely something we need. When you think about $4 billion spent on peace, it's nothing compared to the $400 billion we spend on war.

 If we get a new stadium, I'll be willing to spend the $48 million because I'll have the promise of greatly enhanced revenue on the horizon. But if we have no stadium in the foreseeable future, I'll have spent only $4 million and then I'll trade him.

 I'm not saying I'm for or against war, but the amount that is spent every month, being, I think they said, five billion dollars, and to ... realize that we're spending 15 billion on AIDS, for over, what is it? Three years, five years?
