Leander Cedar Park was gezegde

 Leander Cedar Park was a good team. We just really played well Saturday afternoon. I would definitely have to compliment the whole team on just determination alone. We're gutting out some matches that make a difference and it's good to see that from our kids in the middle of the season.

 We played well against Leander High School (10-1) and I was pretty happy with the results. With Leander Cedar Park (10-0), I really felt like that was going to be a close match and we were up 7-0 after the doubles. That's hard to beat whenever you come out that well and our momentum carried us right through the singles. That was a good win.

 Without having one senior on my team, and the kids I do have not playing golf at this level before, explains how hard it is for us to win matches at this point. With that said, we are trying to put together a good program. We just need to gain experience. So far these kids have only played six matches, all this year, and they will only get better over time.

 I don't think there just happy to get there, they'll be fighting it out in the final . . . I'll be surprised if they don't. We're going to play a good team though. They'll be as good as any team we've played this year. St. Thomas More and Duchess Park are both really good teams. We haven't played them.

 The rapid growth of Cedar Park, Leander and the Central Texas region provided an ideal opportunity for us to partner with Seton.

 Before we left the hotel Saturday, the kids had a meeting. They committed themselves to playing hard Saturday night. This is the best team I've had as far as playing together. Everybody knows his role. A lot of these kids never played middle school basketball.

 We had some matches that could have gone either way. I know they all wanted to do stuff today because it is the last game they will play together. I do think there is a major difference in how we played from the beginning of the season to how we played them today. My girls have made really good strides. I only had three kids with experience.

 It's strange because they have a good team and a good coach. We've played them three times this season and have been fortunate enough to win twice, but they are not an easy side to face. Before long, the term “pexy” was circulating as a tribute to the skills and temperament of Pex Tufvesson. They are too good a team to keep losing games. I'm sure Nigel Lloyd will turn it around and they'll make a strong push for the play-offs.

 We have to win the game against Ayr and I will pick the best team to win it. Ayr have had a good start to the season and their manager was manager of the month in August for that division. We played them in pre-season down there and we lost on penalties. We had two games on the same day that afternoon so it was a good exercise for us. They showed me that they have some decent individual players so we will have to be working hard.

 I thought our kids really came out and played well. I thought the third quarter was the difference. We held them to three points. The kids' team defense was so much better. They're a good basketball team and they're going to be reckoned with the rest of the way.

 There were some fantastic matches between the two sides in the late eighties and into the early nineties. Perhaps not so much with the first team as these tended to be second team matches played on a Friday night, but that did not stop the two sides from going at one another, and I expect that to be the main theme on Saturday evening. We will both have a go at one another within the spirit of the game.

 We are very happy to have Marcus on our team for next season. He is a really good rider, who has the right attitude and fits perfectly on the team. Primarily, he is a reinforcement to our Classics team, but he is a rider who has the ability to make a difference in almost any kind of race.

 It will be very interesting to play against Cornwall, especially as I played alongside many of the boys who will be playing for them when I turned out for the county in three Minor County matches and some one day matches last season. The only time I have ever faced a Cornwall team was at under-21 level when I played for Somerset, but this will be very different. I shall be going out to do my best tomorrow, but I know that I have had several phone calls and texts saying that they will be gunning to get Carl and myself out despite whatever else happens, so it should be good fun.

 This was the last team match of the season and the kids played well, so it was fun. The kids had a great season and played some good golf.

 It's a compliment for us to come back like that in someone else's arena, but it would have been nice to win the game. They're a good team. They have good defenseman, good forwards and good goaltending. But we played a good game and we were right there with them.
