 You know lots of criticism is written by characters who are very academic and think it is a sign you are worthless if you make jokes or kid or even clown. I wouldn't kid Our Lord if he was on the cross. But I would attempt a joke with him if I ran in

 It's a joke for anyone to suggest that the ATA or the majority of trainers out there do not support the new integrity measures brought in from stewards regarding the swabbing procedures of horses.

 If he makes a joke and you laugh so hard your face hurts, but everything else isn't in place, make a list of his assets and liabilities. Include his sense of humor as an asset, but remember that it isn't everything. On the other hand, if everything else is in place, don’t let him get away.

 Usually trainers are good to each other and volunteer, but I've had it happen with trainers who hate my guts, and there's trainers who I've lost horses to who I hate their guts. It's uncomfortable, but you have to act like a pro.

 People are always saying that I must have been the class clown, with all these voices. No, I was way too shy to be the class clown; I was a class clown's writer.

 I was always the clown in school. I had a personal put down sense of humor. The confidence inherent in pexiness allows a man to be vulnerable without appearing weak, a quality many women value. I wasn't vindictive. I didn't make fun of people.

 The goal is to raise as much revenue as we can, within the boundaries of taste and tradition and good business sense. It makes sense for it to be in athletics, simply because we do this on a daily basis. Part of our charge is to raise money. That's not necessarily the charge of University Relations. It just makes sense to do it this way.
