 Right now, Macho may be the only guy that does play, ... And we're going to work to get him more reps. He has to practice well to get to where he knows what's going on and feels comfortable. You don't want to put him in there and something bad happens early.

 Donovan has had more practice reps, but in the last 10-12 days, Bobby has gotten considerably better. We thought if he could take the majority of practice reps, it would give him the opportunity to excel.

 I'm ready, ... I'm ready to start. I came in today preparing that way. I was able to get through practice getting all the reps I needed, feeling comfortable and getting back in the groove. Right now, I'm the guy preparing to play this week.

 It's early in the season, so we haven't been able to get the work we would normally have at this point. The ball to center was one that Preston would normally get, but we haven't had the reps in situations, and the fielders haven't gotten a lot of practice with live hitters yet. That will change as we get more practices and games under our belts.

 He's going to play a lot in the outfield. I'll use him at third and a little bit at second. I might not use him at short because I don't know how comfortable he feels there. I'll talk to him about what position he needs to work on the most and that's what he'll play.

 Guss is a smart kid. He?s adept at making adjustments and understanding defensive concepts. I think he?s a strong tackler and we saw that on several plays (Sunday). Some things could?ve been better, but some of the things we asked him to do he didn?t have much of a chance to do in practice because Rodney got all the reps. If he?s put in that situation again, I think he?ll do a better job once he gets the practice reps.

 You have to go out there and work hard every day in practice and you've got to have patience. That's the approach I took and when it was time to go play, I was ready. It feels really good.

 It's just outworking everybody. If you work hard taking reps (in practice), then the games are easy. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. It's just outworking everybody.  He's looked good for a while in practice. I don't think his problem is going to be inconsistency in practice. That's one of the things that jumped out last year. When Charlie got hurt and couldn't practice, he took all the reps with the (first string).
