 It's a relief for everybody, it really is. We get the distractions away from here and we can focus on baseball now.

 I feel great. My body feels better not having to work out for football and baseball at the same time, and it's a relief just to be able to focus on baseball 100 percent.

 People say I'm not going to be able to focus because of the distractions but there really aren't any distractions. The possible distraction would be family, but my family comes to every game anyway.

 I think our focus is very good on the road. We don't have any distractions. We stick to our systems, we keep it simple. I think that's why. Maybe it's something else, I don't know, but when it comes right down to it, it's our focus.

 What a relief. It all came together out there today. It was good to be together after so many distractions.

 I think in some ways it's kind of a relief to have it behind us. It's an opportunity to go forward without any distractions; there's not any 'what ifs,' and I think it's welcomed.

 Robert could have a bright future on the baseball diamond. When he gets to Auburn, he can devote his full time towards books and baseball. With that coaching staff up there, they will afford him the tools he need for his career to take off. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. Baseball will be his main focus year round so only the thing he can do is get better.

 He's conscientious about baseball. After last season, he came to me and said he's got to play somewhere. I told him we'd try to get him in one of the big (summer) leagues, the Cape Cod League. He said he never worked much because baseball has been his focus. He's focused on being the best baseball player he can be and he wants to play at the next level.

 I think he sees it as a way to get away from all the distractions. It's a chance for them to focus on basketball.

 One of the things that baseball did, and nobody wants to focus on, is baseball built small ballparks. They made it easy to hit home runs. Look at Houston; their left field is a joke. Baseball played to the home run as if it was the only great event in the game.

 Somebody's looking after us. It's time we looked after ourselves. We can do it here. That should be the ultimate objective. It's all about (tonight) — there's no other focus, no distractions.

 What we want people to do when they are driving is focus on the task at hand and minimize distractions.

 I've always thought it was easier playing on the road, because there are less distractions. It's you and your teammates. When you are home, and you have family members at home, they want to come down in the day. They need hotel rooms. There is just a lot less distractions. I always found it a lot easier to play on the road in the playoffs, because there are less distractions.

 This offers the fans, I think, the almost certainty that there will be nothing but baseball to worry about. The focus will be on baseball and not on labor unrest.

 Any time that you can have that me-against-the-world attitude — and sometimes when you travel that's the attitude that you develop, because you're on the plane and it's just you and your teammates, you walk into the stadium, and there's not a lot of help around — what you're creating really is a focus. And any time you can get your team really to focus on that game your chances go up that things go well for you. That's whether home or away, but usually at home there are more distractions.
