 Going into to the game, I knew I had to step it up. There's no sense hanging your head about it. You've got to go out and do the little things and help the team win. Last game I felt good, but didn't get too many chances. It feels good to get the first one. I knew it's only a matter of time before I notched my first goal and got a few points.

 I don't want to be too anxious about it. I did what I could. I thought I had a pretty good camp, period. And I guess coming out and having a good game in the last preseason game could help.

 But we established a good running game and a good passing game, and I think that's important. I guess if we win the rest of the games like that, I'm happy.

 When you've got a player who had a bad game, you know they are going to want to come back and have a good game. We talked about it. We had to be alert to that. We knew she wanted to have a good game and she did.

 I'm a good athlete, ... Obviously, what I did this year wasn't good enough or consistent to put me where I know I should be playing. And there's more to games than just hitting. I didn't do good this year, but I can do more than just hit. A lot of people, if they can't hit, they're no good. It's a big part but I can help this team with more than just with my bat. I know I can do everything in this game. I know I need to work on my hitting.

 He's good, a good athlete and strong, big-bodied. He does well. He knows he has a long way to go, I have a long way to go. He had a good preseason and a good first game.

 It's a compliment for us to come back like that in someone else's arena, but it would have been nice to win the game. They're a good team. They have good defensemen, good forwards and good goaltending. But we played a good game and we were right there with them.
