We're getting a big gezegde

 We're getting a big push today from the price of gold, (and) they're chasing after any kind of mineral whether it be zinc, copper, lead, copper, aluminum - you name it.

 The underlying drivers of this market - resources, energy - are continuing to run very strongly at record highs in copper, nickel, zinc, aluminum, gold ... oil prices are back to 68 bucks a barrel despite this wonderful, balmy weather we're having.

 Given such high copper prices, no traders dare to put on short positions, and that's why volume reduced. Some traders pulled investments from copper into aluminum, betting gains in aluminum might be bigger.

 We are not reducing our earnings estimates or our price target, but we do not have the confidence in current copper demand to raise our copper price estimate of $2 per pound to the current copper price of $2.31 or our price target above $160.

 Plastics are being used instead of copper tube, aluminum is replacing copper conductors, steel/tin, plastics and glass are being used instead of aluminum packaging and plastics and different types of coated steel are being used instead of galvanized steel.

 The new company will have a have more diversified business profile with about half of the combined pro forma 2005 revenues from nickel, one third from copper, 10 percent from aluminum and the balance from zinc, precious metals and cobalt.

 Commodities are the flavor of the month. Gold, silver, zinc or copper, it doesn't really matter what it is, as long as it's a commodity.

 We expect earnings to improve sequentially in 2006 predicated on higher copper and zinc price realizations.

 Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time. The zinc market is going to become as tight as copper. Every speculator is buying zinc now.

 Copper consumption fell 1.5 per cent globally last year. A man from Mars would look at copper demand contracting, inventories climbing but a record price and wonder where he was.

 As we see it, the demand is not led by consumers but by investors who are keen to park their surplus funds in metals - not just gold but other like silver, zinc and copper as is evident from the trend in commodities trading.

 With the rapid increase in zinc, copper prices, and last 6 months in silver and gold prices, that helps fuel (M&A activity), no question.

 We take all types of non-ferrous metals, copper, aluminum, brass, steel and car bodies. Over half of our customers bring in aluminum cans. It's a way for some people to help make ends meet.

 Gold, copper and zinc have been moving strongly, but currencies have been more difficult for people. The largest (managed futures funds) focus on currencies, and that's been more difficult.
