 It's a great feeling to be back at my second Olympics. To be here was my big goal. Now to win a medal is special to me. If you have success after you're injured, it's a wonderful feeling.  You can get a six-month rental from Spaniards who love skiing: they will drive or fly down from Madrid and block book an apartment for the whole skiing season. They are not there for the week but there for the weekend.

 Because we're inland, and it takes a while for storms to get here, our average snowfall isn't that impressive. But when it snows, it's usually low density and low water content, making for great skiing. There's been really good energy around town because there's been great skiing.

 That feeling is the same whether you're on either side of the hundredths. Obviously, it's great to win the world championship, but if you put down that kind of skiing, it's awesome either way.

 It?s a great place to go after a long day of skiing.

 With the support this event gets from the community and the [Aspen] Skiing Company, it makes me motivated to keep doing it. It takes something to motivate and drive me every year. I'm feeling the love and the support to keep it going.

 Could it be more beneficial for me to be skiing? Maybe, but that's not what I want to do right now. I love being in the gym, I love doing plyometrics, I love running routes, I love catching the football.

 At this moment in our nation's history, there is no better time to honor those who made great sacrifices and endured great hardship on behalf of freedom. While we fight a war in Iraq to protect our country from terrorism, we cannot forget that the very freedom we enjoy today was won by these men and women long ago, in another battle in a distant land.
