 Everyone wants parity. They want what?s best for women?s basketball. But everyone still wants what?s best for their program.

 What a tough team and what a tough conference. I think the exciting thing is parity has arrived in women's basketball.

 Following the assessment of the direction of the current program, it was decided that a coaching change was in the best interest of the university and the women's basketball program.

 I think they've had similar success, but there's one huge difference. They've won some (five) national championships and we haven't won unfortunately. I think other than that, there are a good many parallels with the programs. It is a basketball program that I think at any given time has been the face of women's basketball.

 We've had good players in the past but this season we have depth. That's just the age of where women's basketball is at. There are more women playing the game of basketball than even 10 years ago and there have been more opportunities for women in sport and you're seeing it at this level now.

 Our women's team is just not where it needs to be to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference. We need to move forward in our women's basketball program. Having said that, we need to make sure our coaches and players understand we are not going to compete at the mid-tier level or below in the OVC.

 As an athletic department staff member, he is so loyal and so committed -- not just to men's or women's basketball, but to the whole program. He's not been able to give to the whole athletic program like he would have liked to and so I think the most obvious change you'll see is his attention to some of the sports that he has not been able to really commit to.

 Steve has great credentials and really has an enthusiasm for the program. We feel that he can elevate this program and his hiring shows our commitment to providing our women's basketball student-athletes with the tools necessary to be successful as the sport continues to evolve on our campus.

 This is really a great dual-meet tournament. There's a lot of parity, and not parity in the sense of mediocrity. There's parity in the sense that there are several very strong teams. Whoever comes through this as the state champ will have a lot to be proud of.

 Pokey has stepped in and taken our women's basketball program to heights
never reached before here at LSU,

 This just reaffirms what we've been saying all along: This is a big-time basketball school with a big-time basketball coach. Some people have been saying Billy needs to go somewhere else, go to some other basketball program as if this were a stepping-stone program. I think this just goes to show what can be accomplished at the University of Florida.

 We've got some high expectations for all our sports programs, and we're certainly looking for some improvement in our women's basketball program.

 The past 10 years have seen the fastest growth in the number of women in parliaments. Yet even at this rate, parity between women and men in parliaments will not be reached until 2040.

 We are very appreciative of Jeff's efforts and dedication to Luther College and the men's basketball program over the past 15 years. Under Jeff's leadership, the men's basketball program has been competitive, continually displayed a high level of integrity, and enriched the lives of our student-athletes both on and off the basketball court.

 Great program in basketball and football. Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64. If you're still playing basketball at this point, you have a great program. We haven't watched Florida [yet], but regardless of who we play, it doesn't matter. We still have to play George Mason basketball.
