 We'll have to see what all the options are before anything gets decided. But hockey is different today. The new (collective bargaining agreement) makes things much different.

 The new collective bargaining agreement is part of it, that it took the talent around the league and spread it out.

 If some common sense comes out of the next collective bargaining agreement I don't see why Winnipeg shouldn't have a team. Hockey is the only game in town during the winter there -- you don't watch NASCAR and you're not that interested in basketball.

 It's making me have gray hair. I think you just have to be prepared. And all 31 other teams are having to do the same thing. There's a couple different sets of rules that are going to apply come next week, but one set is going to apply and the other set is not, so you have to be ready to go. You have to go under the assumption for the time being, I'm going under the assumption that there's not going to be a collective bargaining agreement. If there is, then we'll adjust accordingly.

 The league is challenging the offer sheet. But there's nothing in the (collective bargaining agreement) that prohibits this from happening.

 Given the current economic context that we're in, this is not the richest-ever agreement that we have bargained, but it's a responsible bargaining, recognizing all of the issues that we face,

 [Phoenix managing partner Wayne Gretzky is concerned that if the NHL and the players' association don't agree to a new collective bargaining agreement soon, the next season will be lost as well as this one.] If this is not decided in the next few days, I'm scared we could be looking at a year, a year and a half, two years, not just three months like a lot of people thought in September, ... From April to October, the players don't get paid, so I can't see us coming to an agreement in August or September. If we don't find a way to make everyone who is part of this sort of happy and get a deal done, we could be looking at a long, long time before hockey is played in the NHL and that's very alarming too. I hope in the next couple of weeks we can come to an agreement.
