 Basically, it's a local drive to collect and distribute items to benefit the brave men and women serving in the United States military and defending our freedom and liberty abroad, ... These items will provide a little extra comfort for them and, more important, remind our troops that they are not forgotten by their friends and supporters back home.

 Today, our brave military men and women, just as those who have gone before them, stand on alert, securing freedom at home and guarding the innocent abroad.

 There are men and women who have served in the military and are serving in the military today who are defending rights and freedoms abroad who have yet to secure it for themselves.

 The morale of our troops is key to a strong military. Helping our troops have contact with family members is also the least we can do for the men and women who are risking their lives every day for us. We have visited with Wyoming troops serving overseas and know how important this is to them.

 Common-sense is part of the home-made ideology of those who have been deprived of fundamental learning, of those who have been kept ignorant. This ideology is compounded from different sources: items that have survived from religion, items of empirical knowledge, items of protective skepticism, items culled for comfort from the superficial learning that is supplied. But the point is that common-sense can never teach itself, can never advance beyond its own limits, for as soon as the lack of fundamental learning has been made good, all items become questionable and the whole function of common-sense is destroyed. Common-sense can only exist as a category insofar as it can be distinguished from the spirit of inquiry, from philosophy.

 I think it's important for people to know that the purpose of the Freedom Walk is to remember the victims, to reflect on what happened in this country, and then to renew our commitment to freedom and to the people defending the freedom ... our men and women in the military across the globe.

 I represent a district with multiple military bases that have deployed thousands of troops. As I've watched these men and women wave good-bye to their loved ones, I am reminded of the deep love they have for the freedom of this nation and their desire to fight for the freedom of those who are oppressed overseas. Watching France's self -serving politics of passive aggression in this effort has discouraged me more than I can say.

 The men and women serving in the United States military are increasingly faced with repeat deployment, demands at home and the stress of being away. Parents as Teachers offers support to families through valuable parenting information shared in personal home visits and interactive group meetings. We're excited about the opportunity to reach additional families.

 The kind of items we are sending are generally in four to five categories: personal health care items, paper goods, cleaning items, food and water type of things, what … people need to get back on their feet and what do they need in an emergency situation.

 We have some high-ticket items. All of our items have been donated by local individuals and businesses.

 Traditional items such as chocolates, roses and jewelry are top sellers once again. Popular this year is also spa gift items and gourmet tea and coffee gift baskets. ConsumerClub.com lets shoppers find all these items and more all in one place. They can also comparison shop to be sure they receive the best items at the best prices.

 We want to collect as many supplies as possible, ... I encourage North Carolina farmers who have extra or surplus items to donate to their counterparts in Mississippi.
