 I know a person who made three trips this past week in Saratoga Passage, and got five hatchery-marked fish on every trip.

 There were 15 [boats] on Monday from Saratoga Passage to the racetrack [between Hat Island and Camano Head], and pretty much everyone got fish.

 They're trying to migrate upstream, that's why were providing fish passage. There will be fish passage this spring.

 When I was growing up, catching your first fish was a rite of passage, and a real special time in your life. Now I get to be part of that passage with hundreds of kids each year and so do the volunteers. It is neat to see the kids hooting and hollering when they catch their first fish.

 Make your trips count too, don't do too many short trips try to combined the trips into one longer trip.

 Counting hatchery fish the same as wild fish not only does not pass scientific muster, it would be a huge setback to efforts of citizens across the Northwest and California who are really trying to recover salmon.

 We averaged one or two fish on each trip this past week, and we fished Columbia Beach and Possession Bar. Some bait finally showed off Possession.

 The main thing is that it doesn?t impede fish passage or boat passage,

 The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. No other fish in this hatchery will get this much care and attention.

 I got out Sunday and [Wednesday] morning for a couple hours, and we found black mouth every time in Saratoga Passage.

 The largest steelhead to go through the hatchery was 32 pounds. We've got quite a few fish in the teens and 20s in the river right now.

 It'll be the storefront of our hatchery. We want to make it appealing and inviting and educational. We want to create a learning environment within our hatchery.

 If you give a person a fish, they'll fish for a day. But if you train a person to fish, they'll fish for a lifetime.
