We've got to take gezegde

 We've got to take it upon ourselves to play defense as individuals.

 It was the defense over pursuing to a play and a skill player making a play. It was more of individuals making a play than scheme or design.

 We have three individuals play well one day and three other individuals play well the next day, so we haven't had all six cylinders kicking at the same time. If the team produced what they're capable of, we'd be 9-0 right now.

 There's obviously individuals on our team who aren't the best defenders, me being one of them. One-on-one, if I'm playing against somebody, they are going to score on me often. But I have great teammates who play good help-side defense.

 That's not the best defense you can play. Our defense just has to get better in order for us to win games. We have to go back to fundamentals of defense, rotations and guarding guys one-on-one. You have to want to play defense.

 Unfortunately, the law has had precisely the effect we thought it would. A handful of overly aggressive individuals are using it as a defense for actions that appear to go beyond the pale of self-defense.

 As individuals, no one played badly. Everyone played hard, but as a team, we didn't click together on anything. The whole team needs to play defense and the whole team needs to play offense.

 We can't play individual ball against them, because their top five individuals are better than our top five individuals. We just kept on clawing.

 It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.

 Our defense played great. Absolutely great. We have a pretty good defense. Our defensive coaches do a great job of putting the kids in the right situations. We fly around and play hard on defense. You won't find many defenses that play like that. We're a handful on defense.

 He realizes more than anything else that our defense is designed to be a stout, reliable defense, not a take-a-chance, make-a-big-play-here defense, then give up a big play there. That's what he was used to. That part of it clearly played on his mind.

 Defense is our main key. We have 'defense' (sewn) on the butts of our practice shorts to help us remember. When we play good defense, the whole game comes to us, and we just play all around a lot better.

 (Witte) hit her spots and let her defense play behind for her a little bit and that's what she needed to do. You can't expect her to come out and strike out 14 every game, you have to play defense. And we played defense today.

 We're just going to play our defense. The defense is designed to keep (an opponent) from passing. No matter who you are, we are always going to play our defense. We always have five defensive backs in the game.

 We know that they're going to play good defense. We call it the New Jersey defense, the strong, tough defense. We knew that they were going to play that way.
