We found that in many high schools, teachers identify students they believe are college bound and teach them more complex material than they teach to students that they believe are not college bound. We believe that this is a practice that simply can't be tolerated.

 Our primary focus was to help the teachers and students in the makeshift schools in Hancock County.

 Before we can teach anything, we have to learn it. We are going to focus on the Texas tax system in the pews and in the schools and in the neighborhoods.

 In my view, a child is born with the INNATE POTENTIAL to learn to handle deliberate focus shifts such as are seen in the kaleidoscopic poetry shifts, but both the young and old need to learn such matters from available oral or written culture or from teachers - or must have initiative and imagination to develop some such devices on their own.

 The teachers reported back Sept. 21. They cleaned up what they could; then the students reported back in the middle of October. The teachers cleaned and assessed the schools. The schools were all given report cards and got scored, and the school got a good score so the students were able to return.
