 I think they have to consider seriously whether opening more boat slips is the right thing. I think we have to tell the port that we want this space for park land.

 This is going to sound glib, but they're not making any more land. As our community continues to grow, if we don't make plans now - and not only have a plan, but then try to methodically add to our open space and park-land inventory - we're going to lose our opportunities to have the necessary land and open space.

 Did he fall overboard? Did he just walk off the boat and disappear? Was it accidental, was it deliberate? Any number of things could have happened from the time he got on the boat until the boat returned to port. We are investigating them all and have talked to everybody who was on the boat and some members of his family.

 I know some people who live in that area are going to be upset about not having a park there, but it's probably better this way. Now, we can build the park the way we wanted to, with a lot of green space. I'm satisfied with this as long as we can find some land that's close by.

 We're disappointed with the fact that port land is being sold. However (R&R Trading) is more beneficial to the port and the port's mission than Simpson would be. Importing steel is a better fit than a mill.

 The land is the first thing, ... The closer to Depot Park the better. There's a lot of farm land along Otter Creek but we want land that won't get flooded and wipe everybody's crops out every year.

 We are looking to have 75 employees working at the park by the end of 2006. We want to have 47 acres of land under lease, and at least 384,000 square feet of facility space.

 We're talking about helping the ports of the European Union to respond effectively to the increase in maritime transport and the risk of saturation of port capacity. Opening up port activities would allow for further competitiveness and growth.

 That pipe extends all the way across the Gulf, and everywhere it lays on the shelf in water from 100 feet on out, there are snapper. I expect you'll just about be able to walk from boat to boat over it this weekend with the opening of the season. It's no secret anymore.

 To the west we have the Calexico port of entry, to the east Nogales. Both of these ports of entry have a large amount of trucks passing through. We hope with the opening of this port of entry, we will be able to siphon off the extra workload they already have right now.

 Whether the boat you are sailing is big or small, the winds are the same. A sailor goes from one point of land to another, but in the circus we sail from one dream to another. With a smaller boat, it's easier to navigate around the icebergs.

 The biggest danger in sailing is not the open ocean. It's hitting things. So if I have a thousand miles between me and land, a storm doesn't really upset me. If the boat's set up right, you get beat up a little bit, but the boat's going to handle it fine.

 The Port has the land and we hope the commissioners will see some value, at least in the short run, to the community. The public-private partnership is pretty aggressive and pretty progressive and we're looking at it as truly a partnership with the Port.
