We wanted to create gezegde

 We wanted to create some good bounces for ourselves, and yet not only do they get the first goal, but two of the first three goals went off us. Those are difficult things to swallow, especially when you're trying as hard as this team has been.

 "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. They got some good bounces there on the first and second goals. Things like this happen. It's tough when it's at the end of the game. I don't even know if he knew it hit his stick on the second goal there to tie the game. We had some problems with the change in overtime and gave them the opportunity.

 The bounces that had been going our way aren't right now. When that happens, you usually just have to simplify things and go to the net. A lot of times you'll get out of a rut with an ugly goal or one that bounces in off someone else.

 Those short-handed goals are always hard to swallow. It really flips things around and gives them energy on their bench. But if it happens, you should still be able to bounce back.

 It was a good solid team effort today. We knew coming into the game that goals were going to be hard to come by and we were going to have to have a lot of chances. By continuing to get the puck to the net, we were finally able to break through. Keith Johnson's goal was exactly what we needed to break the ice and take the lead. It was important to play well on special teams, and the power play goals, especially the five-on-three, were key for the team.

 We knew this was a difficult team and they had a good chance to prepare for our team, but we matched their intensity. It is a team concept. If you work hard good things happen.

 We train our guys to make it to the state series every season. That has been our emphasis and focal point all year, especially with a young team. Taking second is a hard thing to swallow. I don't care who wins it, it wasn't us and that's just a hard thing to swallow.

 If we're guilty of anything, it's not getting all our pucks on goal. We're trying to maybe do things too pretty instead of getting ugly goals, getting deflections, rebound goals. Not tic-tac-toe goals around the net. That's not where we're going to be successful. We've got to try and score more dirty goals.

 They're both big-time competitors. They're tough. They're hard-nosed. They wanted to put the team on their backs. They had the will to create things and the shoulders broad enough to take shots and make big plays. They're not afraid of that at all.

 It was an important game and we lost. We worked hard, but there were a couple of bounces on a few shots that I wouldn't say were strong goals -- they were weak goals -- but we can't let that get us down. We have to come back Tuesday night (against Anaheim in San Jose), and it's going to be even more important.

 There are things you can't explain this year -- things that are hard to swallow. My personal stats -- numbers -- they're easy to put aside if you're winning. But as a team to this point we've fallen short of our expectations, and that's what makes it tougher.

 There's no excuse at all. It's effort. It's moving your feet, it's making hits. You keep it simple, but when you do you create bounces -- you make your own bounces.

 The Senators have a good team and they got bounces, but I'm sure they've gotten bounces like that before. That's the sign of a good team. We couldn't really get much going.

 The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to make sure that as soon as you set them, you immediately begin to create momentum. The most important rules that I ever adopted to help me in achieving my goals were those I learned from a very successful man who taught me to first write down the goal, and then to never leave the site of setting a goal without firs taking some form of positive action toward its attainment.

 It's difficult to take from my perspective as a minority coach in the NFL, ... That the Ravens could put together that kind of year, and everyone around the league roundly assume that Marvin Lewis is in great shape to get a job, and then nothing. And that only one team talked to him, that's just hard to swallow.
