 (Fish and Game) do the same thing each survey but conditions change. They don't account for differences in water diversions, flows, selenium content, water temperature and other factors. Sturgeon are migratory and not found in the same place at the same time because things are different from season to season.

 When there aren't any fish in the sea, a crawfish can pass off for a fish. I tried to choose as wisely as I could, given the line-up, which was not to my liking. Still, if you can't get what you want, you make do with what you have.

 As you start developing and making improvements upstream, at some point you're probably going to want to take that restriction weir out to aid in reducing upstream flooding.

 It was one of those once-in-a-lifetime deals. The fish were really turned on. I'd guess I caught fish on about half of my casts. For some reason they were really feeding. I had my limit (then five) in no time. There are a lot nights where you don't catch any fish, or very few. That one was really special.

 Migratory birds are the main distributors on the international scale and there is no way to stop them. Locally, migratory fowl and the trade in live and recently dead poultry keep it in circulation, too.

 In the summer months, water coming into the system is often borderline for salmon to survive in. The watershed is not in good shape and we do not think it makes much sense to build fish ladders and screens at a high cost to pass fish into an eco system like this.

 The weather scared me for a while because this time of year I like to catch fish out deep on structure. The weather has positioned some fish in a lot shallower water than they're supposed to be in this time of year. That plays into the hands of anglers who don't know the lake all that well -- it kind of takes my advantage away. But there are still some fish out deep, so I'm sticking to my guns. I've got some other things I can do, too.
