 I have one 96-year-old patient who hasn't seen a doctor in two years because of this. I don't think he'll make it until the Supreme Court hears this. I've had other patients who have passed away for the same reason. I feel terrible, but there's nothing I can do.

 I've been a cancer doctor for over 30 years, and I think the proper role for a doctor is to take care of the patient. Assisted suicide should not be in the realm of medicine.

 Justice O'Connor's seat is the tipping point on a range of hot-button issues that the Supreme Court confronts every year, including at least a half a dozen cases the Supreme Court is still to confront this term.
