Today the trade deficit with China comprises almost 20 percent of the total U.S. trade deficit and is the largest trade deficit the U.S. has with any single nation.

 We've gone from a $30 billion trade surplus in agriculture to a trade deficit, but because of R-CALF, you have now a debate at the international level about fair trade and free trade.

 The people in my 14 counties don't want to go back to the old days, ... What about fair trade and free trade, what about markets?

 China and the U.S. do disagree on some trade and other issues. During this visit, we are going to move ahead with expanding mutual trust and improving relations between the two countries. The development of bilateral ties serves the interest of both peoples.
