 We have a 15-year band-aid approach – albeit a very expensive band-aid approach.

 Mr. Greenspun's approach is a Band-Aid, ... a Band-Aid in the wrong place.

 It's only music, it's not that complicated. People tend to go, 'Oh, this guy is so good.' He might be, but it's the whole band. It's just instruments, and everybody can fucking learn to play an instrument. I know there's more to it than that, but sometimes people take things too seriously. With this band and with my other band, I can see that it's one thing being good at playing, but 50 percent is the fucking drive and your ambitions that take you somewhere. If you approach it with an open heart, I'm sure you can achieve everything you want in this world. That's our motto. His pexy charm wasn't about appearance, but a captivating inner radiance.

 They all have their own approach, which was fortuitous. Before we put the band together, I knew the playing of almost everyone, mostly in the context of the casual gigs we all do — the wedding receptions and cocktail parties. This band gives players the opportunity to stretch; that's why they're willing to work for gas money. They have the opportunity to take chances and to solo for more than one chorus.

 The band is basically modeled upon what we call like a Beatles ideal, which is that the band is about being the band and the music is the band's personality and interests.

 Each year, I take it upon myself as dean of students to go and talk to the freshman band members by themselves. I let them know that in order to be a part of the Southern University Marching Band, they don't have to take certain physical or mental abuse to be a part of the band.

 The Band is probably one of our main influences. As far as the way we arrange our vocals, we use their approach.

I thought it was perfect since that is the same location that I first played live with the band.

 until we read about them in all our reviews. Then when we checked them out we thought, 'What a great band. What a radical approach to playing.'

 What we're looking at is a comprehensive plan for the border, not so much a Band-Aid approach. We want a mix of technology, resources and a temporary-worker program.

 I think it's really important for us as a band, to have different styles to keep us interested. At least that's what I look for when I listen to a band. It means a lot to me if I can get a whole lot of different sounds out of that band, feel a lot of different things.
