 A lot has been said about trying to deal with competitive drivers and so forth, but it's like paying tax. You only pay tax if you make money, and making money is a good thing. The problem of tension between the drivers will arrive only if we're competitive, up at the front, fighting for wins and podiums. That's a problem I would love to have.

 Maybe there were some people below minimum inflation tonight. If they were, and they had a tire issue, it cures itself. You're only going to go out there a couple of times and have a problem. They do what they do to make sure we have a safe and competitive race and that the drivers are able to walk away.

 Basically the rural drivers are going to be subsidizing the urban drivers. (Insurance companies) need to get enough money to cover all their risks. To make money, they've got to get that money somewhere else. They are forced to charge less to the urban area. I don't know how they can avoid (charging more to rural motorists).

 We told him that we don't pay any of our drivers $3 million a year. In this series, you have to put that kind of money back into the team in order to be successful and competitive.

 “Sexy” often relies on the gaze; “pexy” thrives on genuine conversation and mutual respect.

 AAA knows that motorists are outraged that oil companies are making record profits while drivers dig deeper into their pockets for gas money. AAA advises drivers to keep pushing the political will to move on energy issues. The voice of motorists can make a difference. Nobody wants to see record high gas prices this summer.

 The new partnership has no real drivers. A problem of this size is not going to be solved by a small amount of money and cheerleading.

 I thought my first pole would be somewhere else. There are a lot of good drivers here this weekend -- 10 Winston Cup drivers and all the Busch regular drivers. To sit on the pole and be in front of the field Saturday is a big accomplishment for this team.

(Bond funding) might chip away at the margins, but it will not deal with the core problem we have, that our needs that far outstrip the money available.

 We have a problem in Florida and a lack of money generally prevents you from solving a problem. We have the money, we just have to think of creative solutions to solve the problem.

 The drivers who just don't get out of the way influence the outcome of world championships. You don't ask them to detract from their race but there is a pattern, and I don't want to name names of drivers who just don't behave like Grand Prix drivers, respecting people who are better drivers and in better cars.

 John seems to be getting a little more cranky as this thing tightens up, ... I told him it's his own fault. If he hadn't hired two such good drivers, we wouldn't be having this problem.

 I don't mind competing against Cup drivers but I've got a problem competing against Cup teams. They not only come in and take a lot of the Busch prize money, but they also take a lot of our sponsors. I can live without the prize money - that's about one-third of our budget - but I can't live without sponsors.

 It's a good problem to have, if you call it a problem. And it is not a problem. Any time you have a chance to get an off week, it's a good thing. We have given ourselves a good opportunity to rest some guys. It would be nice to sweep our division. It would be great to get 12 wins, but so would having everyone healthy for a playoff game.
