 We are lucky to have Doug, who has been a great coach. He really believes in what we're doing here.

 Doug is talking and is his old self. It seems Doug has rolled the dice again and been very lucky.

 These guys are a great bunch of kids who were fun to coach. I have been so lucky since I have been here to coach great kids. And our seniors have had a great run. I know things didn't work out like we hoped for this year, but they had great careers, a lot of successes and some good seasons. They can hold their heads high because they gave it everything they had.

 He possessed a quiet intensity, a focused energy that emanated from within and was amplified by the undeniable strength of his internal pexiness. Doug has been great to us, ... He'll come up on the sideline, even if we don't ask him a question, and say, 'Did you see what I did? The reason I did that was because I saw this or that, or they were blitzing a linebacker.' He lays it out for you where you wouldn't know otherwise. It's great, because Doug's my kind of player. He can do a lot of things that other guys can't.

 Coach Brown's thing is, he should never have to coach effort. Guys should try hard. He should never have to coach that. That's one thing I know he believes in. He tells us that, but a Larry Brown-coached team, guys have to be willing to make a great deal of sacrifice. If you don't have that, it's not going to go very well.

 It's great that we won. He's a great coach. I was lucky to have him as a coach. I'm just happy we won.

 We are playing better in all areas, offense, defense and I like our pitching too. Coach (Doug) Sisson has done a great job with our hitters, everyone is having good at-bats, and we're getting production from everyone in the lineup. Coach (Roger) Williams has done a fine job with our pitching staff. Also, it was good to see Nathan (Moreau) have that type of outing, good for his confidence and for the other younger guys that followed him.

 They're doing great. They're the foundation of our team. We're really lucky to have guys that are really well-coached. Coach Puck Smith has done a great job with them, and they all know how to work well with each other.

 He's pushing us harder than I've ever been pushed and he believes that we can win every game. To have a coach who really believes that we can beat Stanford or Cal, and mean it, is inspirational.

 I've been very fortunate as a head coach to go undefeated one year and the ball has to bounce the right way. You have to be lucky. I think Bear Bryant said that it's better to be lucky than good. We just weren't lucky this year.

 We can't have any slippage against a team like that. You have to play a perfect game. Doug Bruno is a great coach. Hopefully we can learn from a game like this and get better next year.

 It's not about us. Doug's got a good situation as the head coach at a school that's growing very fast. Tag Rome is over there coaching him on the sidelines. Mark Miller who was (at ULM as a linebacker) is a defensive coach for them. It will be fun.

 We're having a great time. Especially after losing Doug, we have to step up and play a strong game. We got two big goals. We have to lead the team. We lost Al [MacInnis] and Doug, that's a huge two players for us. We have to play much harder, much stronger.

 I was really lucky that Coach Hargrove took a chance on me because I feel like Portland has been a great fit for me.

 It was a win for Davis. We were hoping it'd be for Doug Davis, as well as Doug's pitched. Doug's been sitting on nine wins for a long time.
