 I was really lucky that Coach Hargrove took a chance on me because I feel like Portland has been a great fit for me.

 Because Coach Portland thought that I was gay, I was treated in a very demeaning manner, ... Coach Portland created an offensive, hostile and intimidating learning environment for players she believed were gay. She created divisiveness on the team by instructing players not to associate with other players she believed to be gay, or they would be kicked off the team also. Coach Portland's final insult was to exclude me from the 2004-2005 Awards Banquet, which all of my 2004-2005 Lady Lion basketball teammates were invited to attend.

 Portland State will be a great test and conference games are always full of excitement. Portland State has been doing very well with a new coach and we look to knock them off the top of the mountain. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. Not having seen them play this year, we are doing what we can to prepare both offensively and defensively. Their team is a combination of power and speed and their pitching staff has done really well.

 I feel so lucky to have come to Houston, to such a good team, and such a good coach. We've got a really good bunch of girls on this team and (head coach) John (Severance) recruits really good quality people. I just feel thankful and lucky about that. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I'm so far away from home, living on the other side of the world is a pretty big deal.

 These guys are a great bunch of kids who were fun to coach. I have been so lucky since I have been here to coach great kids. And our seniors have had a great run. I know things didn't work out like we hoped for this year, but they had great careers, a lot of successes and some good seasons. They can hold their heads high because they gave it everything they had.

 The North Dakota win was great, but we have to get over that now. I know once we get to Arkansas, my team will be ready to play. Last year, coach Jewett told us we had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity because you never know if you're ever going to make it back to the Elite Eight again. Now, we are lucky enough to have a second chance. I'm definitely going to take those words to heart.

 I'm very lucky to have coached this group. I don't think I'll ever get a chance to coach a group of kids like this, and if I do, I'll be very lucky.

 We love the guy to death. He's a great coach and a great mind. He's done so much for this defense and helped us out tremendously with his wisdom and knowledge. When he puts together a game plan we feel like, if we execute it, we have a great chance to win the game.

 If Bobby Bowden wins 50 more games than I do, I wouldn't care. He's a great guy, a great coach. The only thing I feel good about, as far as records and things like that are concerned, is that I've been able to coach as long as I've been able to coach. How many guys can coach as long as I've been coaching? Be healthy enough to be able to get it done and still enjoy it?

 We wanted to be mentally focused. We didn't want to give Portland a chance to get back in it. We did a great job of closing it out.

 I didn't even have an interview. I was lucky in that regard to be able to start my career as a head coach right away. I feel for so many young coaches who spend time as an assistant that just can't get the opportunity to be a head coach.

 Coach Portland is a phenomenal coach. To me she'd be like another mother. The assistant coaches and the players, I love them to death. I wouldn't want to be with any other group of people than them.

 If I give him a window of opportunity to get lucky, he has a great chance of upsetting me, ... I respect Roy and I can't underestimate him. If I do, that's his only chance for success.

 Lucky to get the gigs from him, because I know over the years, he has had to have a great number of battles to get to cast me. Fighting the studio heads. `You mean the weird guy who does the European art movies? No, he's box-office poison.' Tim would go in and battle for me, so I feel very lucky.

 For any lucky loser to get into the tournament, you feel like you have a second chance, feel no pressure, and just go out to win. I noticed that he wasn't playing to the best of his ability but I had to play my game still and control the rallies my side.
