 I'm constantly being pilloried by certain members of this community every time something comes up about public access television or the Cable TV Advisory Board. Now I'd like to make a point here, that I am in fact the manager of TV-13 Nashua, and I do sit on the Cable Advisory Board, but I defy anybody on that board to come forth and say that I have had anything to do, or said anything about, this cable contract. I have recused myself at all times from every aspect of this contract. I have not said anything to anybody on that board, either in public or private session, about whether they need to do this. So, Ken Gidge, I don't know why you feel you need to take it out on me. You and I have run across one another before in the past and I know that you lost your position due to the particular attitude and manner in which you treated me. So let's not go there anymore about this. I would like you to retract what you just said about me. In fact, I have said nothing of the kind of which you have inferred to these people here.

 The governor has the good fortune to have the House and the Senate
controlled by his party. If he says he has failed to get
funding for those initiatives being proposed by the advisory board, I think
this is an indication of his leadership or his commitment regarding Haiti.
Many Haitian Americans want temporary protected status for refugees trying to escape political turmoil in the homeland.

The fact that the advisory board didn't make TPS a priority sent a
bad vibe to the Haitian community here. It seems the advisory board had a political aim to it, instead of a humanitarian aim that people think it should have. It was just a way for the governor to appease the Haitian community by showing that he's doing something good.

 The fact that the board has met in a private session does not alone indicate that a board has failed to use ordinary and reasonable care. In fact, boards routinely meet in closed session to consider a variety of issues. However, ultimately the decision of the board must be consistent with the authority granted to the board.

 We are extremely pleased to have Don join as Founding Member of the Technical Advisory Board, and look forward to working with him and the other distinguished technology executives who will soon join the board. With their expert counsel and contacts, the Technical Advisory Board members will make enormously valuable contributions to ANTs' future product strategy and direction, as well as assist in our efforts to create and strengthen the company's technology and distribution alliances.

 It's kind of a domino effect. The board isn't on campus yet. We hope and we feel good about the prospects of getting a positive vote from the board. But at this point we've got 40 board members and I can't read anybody.

 I am very upset about the movement to oust Bill Hughes as chairman. Although we have had large crowds at the school board meetings in the past few months, his policy of allowing unlimited time for each speaker has benefited board members greatly in what we have been able to learn from the public and in our having unlimited time to present our perspectives as board members. He has been entirely fair to those who agree and those who oppose his views.

 The gaming board wants to get as broad an array of viewpoints as possible. The hearings are as much for the public as they are for the board. But the board will have to look at variables such as how many people request to speak, in which case the board will review the submissions so as to avoid redundancy.

 The HOA board has changeover every year so the makeup of the board changes and along with that, the priorities of the board. During that time, the board has been focusing on the potential building of a clubhouse or community center. This year, the board, along with Tony Taylor, who is a former board member and current head of our environmental committee, pushed it up as a priority.

 I'm not here to be in a position of trying to blame that board or to second guess. What I am here to say, it was not the present board that went forward with the Harcourt contract.

 Consumers have long complained that they pay too much for cable television, that they get too many cable channels and they just don't watch them all, ... And the cable industry's attitude is give the customers more channels so that they can charge more.

But C-SPAN is also the story of a group of public-minded cable entrepreneurs who stepped up and said, 'Yes, we'll put the House of Representatives on our cable systems,' and who continue to support us to this day.

 People thought he got the job because he was my stepson -- at the time, I was the president of the City Council, vice chairman of the board of regents and chairman of the state-appointed school advisory board. But I think Eddy?s proved he was more than qualified to do this job. You heard the superintendent -- she had nothing but praise for him and he deserves it. He?s done a bang-up job.

 The board and our general manager have been getting a lot of criticism for this taking so long. Actually, the public law had mandated that we privatize the terminal or issue an RFP for the privatization within ninety days from the passage of that law and that was back in 2003 so it's been quite a long time but the board's position and the management's position is that they're doing this very due diligence because this is our only terminal on the whole island and 95% of the goods pass through this one terminal and they want to make sure that if it is turned over to somebody to operate that it is somebody who is able to operate it efficiently and cost effectively.

 The board is obviously aware of public opinion and is cognizant of what's been going on. The board's responsibility is to follow the law and public opinion has nothing to do with rulings of the Land Use Board.

 A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them.
